That offside that was ruled a good goal was baffling to me no matter how many times Debrusk justified it.

That broadcast crew up there really enables their fanbase.

I watched that game last night after the Flames game and they kept going on and on about the goal late into the game, with Debrusk railing on it like it was a huge injustice and derailed the Oilers.

With the constant complaining about the officiating by that crew, it just comes across as so unprofessional.

Does anyone have good video of the goal call from last night? I wasn't able to watch any hockey last night and now I'm just curious what all the hubub is about.

Edit: Just watched a crummy CBC video but was completely inconclusive from that.

Oilers media is walking it back now. A video came out this AM clearly showing the puck crossing the line before Talbot was touched or pushed in.

It was so patently obvious during the game last night. The puck was underneath Talbot's left pad, and his pad was entirely in the net.

I thought Debrusk wasn't too bad in the past but he has clearly been changed into a whining Oilers fan instead of an impartial broadcaster. He's no Remenda but he is not good

I agree, he seemed to be a fairly unbiased type guy in the past and I didnt mind him at all. Now I cant stand listening to his whiny nonsense. Must have gotten a bonus from Katz to help brainwash the Edmonton Oilers faithful.

Aw, no overtiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime winner?

Poor fanboy tool.

Is there any one around the team in the media that is level headed and doesn't make biased slants on every development?

I often feel like our guys don't give our team enough credit on most occasions and pump the tires of a lot of opposing players and teams. Probably why the contrast of Edmonton seems so difficult to fathom from afar.

Can someone explain what the ruling was on the allowed Oiler goal?

I saw it at the bar (so no sound), and they froze the picture with the puck over the blueline and the player's skate still firmly and clearly on the ice. So indisputable evidence of off-sides. Then they ruled it a goal anyway.

Now I come here and see that Oiler fans are whining about being jipped again. Amazing.

His foot was off the ice before they entered the zone therefore no one was off side

Listening to Wyshnski on Vancouver's Sportsnet Radio he just referred to Elias Petterson as generational.

I like that term. Let's use it so much that it's such a cliche that it drives the Oilers fans insane with the that Connor is the same as.... oh... any number of "generational" players.

About two months ago a radio personality on Team 1040 said Pettersen reminded him of Wayne. The two other personalities ripped him apart, but said personality stood by it.

Slight, blonde, and plays in a blue jersey. I can see it.

Petterson is his generation's generational generator of flux capacitor generated talent.

Tkachuk is a generational agitator. Gaudreau is generational at zone entries.

Lucic is a generational power forward in a game where moving forward is more important than power... but still, he's generational.

Dear lord. But honestly if it rubs Edmonton sideways I'm all for it! (Cause we know we won't be serious when we say it).

Its so cool to have two generational talents in western Canada! TWO. Move over, McOldNews!
