BUT- On a serious note- A poster referring to the idea that they are happy a player is hurt and it's an 'upside' is absolutely sickening to me.
Our guys know and accept that they are going to get slaughtered when they screw up- they deal with the fans being angry- they deal with the fans wanting them traded- it's part of the position of being a famous athlete. However- NONE OF THEM should have to deal with fans being happy if they are hurt. That's classless, trashy, uncalled for and absolutely abhorrent. Think if it were your own child other people were speaking about, and how much that would hurt.
I am not a mod and I don't have any say here, but personally, I don't ever want to see that Sh*t again. I won't call you out, but you should be ashamed of yourself.

Nobody likes whats happening in net right now. But to be a constant black cloud over it all the time is nauseating and quite frankly lame. Smiths wins don't count because they don't meet your lofty expectations. Neat. Heard and acknowledged. Still doesn't negate the fact he's still 6-0 before tonights game. Who flipping cares how the W's come as long as they come.
Personally, I cannot wait until the Flames have a whole new set of goalies.
|
Wow... what is not to like about rittich???
All those smith wins were great but he has done nothing to make up for the 8points he cost this team earlier this season. Like dino said. All of his games he had made saves that are expected of an average nhl goalie. Praising smith for being avaerage is ridiculous

With 5 to go in the third, I was rueing the most GG like performance I’ve seen this year. Defensive lapses, wasted power plays, shorties against.
Then the ghost of Bob Hartley reappeared.
The last 5 minutes and OT was crazy awesome cool fun.
Feel bad for Smitty, but I have no idea why he even got to stay in through the second.

Anyone here caught a touch of this year's flu?
I'm betting Smith has the bug.

Most of Rittich's wins were the same. But I give him credit for them, not a big "meh".

Totally agreed. I would never question Smith's character or dedication. I have been a critic, but he deserves more respect than that. I have wondered lately if he doesn't have some nagging injury though and it might be best to sit out and deal with it.

Someone suggested he's a pouter, but I don't see it. There he is, not on the ice with an empty net, but he's totally invested and super pumped. OT was the same.

This looked like a team about to enter a slump for about 40 minutes tonight. I'm amazed at how they persevere and ashamed that I can doubt them for even a minute. When your heart stops pounding take a minute to appreciate this team. We're watching something incredible unfold.

Take a look at the 2nd goal, Smitty pulls his leg back in real quick and it doesnt look right to me (reminds me of a reaction to a pull)
Then the next 2 goals he is just not tracking at all and his body language is messed.
I slept through the game :/ so i all i can go with is replays

He made more than just a big save. The skate save was the biggest of the night but it wasn't the only good chance he stopped. Not to mention the team gave up about five breakaways that game which is insane.
The Flames may have peppered Crawford but like I said could have easily blew it in the third if Smith didn't come up big at times.
