That combo could work, if you even out some ice time. The problem comes when you match Backlund against someone like McDavid who plays so much. Then the third line ice time suffers.

If someone like Dube develops into a good defensive forward, you could stick him with Backlund and Frolik as a shutdown line. I could also see Hathaway or Jankowski trying that role - Jankowski is decent defensively in open ice (not so much along the boards). Or Ryan Backlund Frolik.

This was all Johnny’s fault with that idiotic first period spin-o-rama.

Bennett is basically playing like a younger James Neal which makes Neal's slower start easier to deal with.

It took Gulutzan 1.5 seasons/7 games/17 months to win his first game against the Oilers.

Peters won in his first try.

That poster looks for every chance to snub Bennett, I don't put much, if any stock in his posts. There was a lot of good things about Bennett tonight.

If the guy loves steak, he is playing in the right city.

Ryan Leslie is a gem lol. Hunted down a "David" coke bottle just for the post game show.

I'm really thinking Bennett will actually breakout very soon here. He was dominant and powerful on the ice and very smart. I see only good things coming form him. Lindholm is just such a pickup by Treliving.
