What's the deal with Czarnik, I would rather see him in the lineup over Ryan.
Ryan is really good in the faceoff circle which could be the tipping point.

The 4th line has been great the last couple games. Why mess with it.

Hathaway was just fortunate enough to catch a case of the Kulaks (only able to score against the Rangers).

Seems to me he has played well, has the drive, and brings more to the table than a few players set to dress.
I don't have hard numbers but Hathaway and Ryan are usually on the PK together. Czarnik so far as I remember Hasn't killed penalties this year.

As an Aside if someone knows a good site that tracks these things I would love to see the actual break down.

So what, is Derek Ryan a Bolshevik now?

Derek Ryan is the new Derek Grant, only good for faceoffs.

Comes out to take the faceoff, then go back to the bench and wait for whistle blow. Rinse and repeat.

Has he seized the means of production? Is that why we cant score? Is he at least the Flames' NHLPA Rep?

He just needs to find better Engels when he is shooting.

Wasn't he advertised as a more offensive type 3C? Not saying that people can't change their roles, and I have liked him this year, but I feel like that was something I saw. If I'm right that could have something to do with people wanting him to sit

Yeah, he had 15 goals and 38 points last year. I've watched every goal he's ever scored and the vast majority come off rebounds within a couple feet of the net. He just hasn't found those chances yet. He's certainly a very low-event player, which can be both a blessing and a curse. When the team isn't doing anything right, it appears that he's not helping them win, which could be true -- but I'd say that when they win, he's helping them much more to not lose.

I find the Sabres a really interesting team. They have sucked as much as the Oilers, with consistent high draft picks, but it seems like they've been more balanced in terms of actually drafting quality defensemen (Ristoleinen and Dahlin). But they haven't had any more success! I'm curious to see Eichel, I'm just wondering what it is that he does so well.

That said -

Flames put in another solid consistent effort. Rittich continues to be a brick wall, letting just two sneak past him. Tkachuk makes up for his penalty last game with a three point night. Dude gets his first. Valimaki pots another one. 5-2 for the good guys.

Flames carry over their strong play from yesterday. 4-2 with goals from Neal, Bennett, Jankowski, Andersson.

Seems like Czarnik could help the 2nd power play unit which has been bad. But he is one dimensional and I’m sure that’s why Peters has him as odd man out at the moment.

Really hard to predict the outcome of the 2nd game on a back to back on the road. Would just be good to see another committed team effort today.

Going into this game the Flames have 4 players at or over a PPG.

Giordano is sizzling to start with 10 points in 12 games and a +6. What's "old"?
