If this keeps up the next time Flames ownership starts threatening relocation because the city won't give them a free arena, no one will care. Hell at this point I think I would be perfectly fine with the Flames moving. Calgary would go a few years without a team, but inevitably a team would come back via relocation or expansion and we could start fresh without all of the history of failure

The only complaint I have of the man is his work in UFA..

Raymond and Brouwer were disasters and Ryan hasn't been making me feel too great about his term/AAV either.

I know there is concern with Neal but I'll be patient with him because he has a highend release.

Engelland and Frolik look to be his only successes out of it all and Frolik is still a bit of a mixed bag.

If I was an owner I would clean house and I mean clean ####ing house. I’d probably wait until mid November but if this continues, it’d start at King and Trelivihg and it would be time to essentially fire everyone and start over.

Sounds dramatic and is dramatic, and I get that, but enough is enough. If this carries on for another 15 games or so it isn’t going to improve, so time to start over.

You can’t fix a caring problem and it’s clear that Treliving brings in guys that don’t care or coaches that can’t get them to. Sutter would fix this. He refuses to do a thorough coaching search. Goaltending needs a fix, now. That is an emergency situation and he refuses to address it.

This whole organization from the customer relations side and how they treat the fans to ignoring people on the jerseys to trying to interfere in civic elections to get your billionaires more money to increasing prices to not giving the fans enough overall value to the team and the actual product being an unmistakable train wreck. Holy ####. Just get on with it already because we all know it’ll happen sooner or later and you may as well get going now rather than delay the inevitable. Have some ####ing mercy for the fans. Jesus.

This team is simply not very good despite all the tinkering.

Time for a new architect.

Some thought Sutter would have been a threat to Treliving. Hartley had a pedigree better than Treliving, and I feel his overachievement and Jack Adams got him an extension Tre didn’t want to give him. .

I like the roster on paper, but being the boss, you need to have the confidence in yourself that you can hire the best coach for the job.

We will see if Peters is what Tre thought he was getting, but the past few games are not encouraging

Tre rushed the hiring when he said he would take his time. He hired his buddy. Darryl would have been a great hire here. Dale Hunter would have been awesome too.

I'm surprised that Peters lasted this long. I mean, 10 games! That's an eternity in the coaching world. He should have been gone after half that.

It'll be interesting to see how the careers of Jordan Kyrou, Alex Formenton, Stuart Skinner, Noah Dobson, Nordgren and Ishakov progress or regress. Especially since these were all players taken with the Flames draft picks for the Elliot, Lazar, Smith and Harmonic trades. Notwithstanding the pick we have to forfeit next year too for Travis.

I'm truly still in the wait and see for Treliving for one more year. Definitely don't see him as a wizard beyond his RFA signings.

I think he’s done if the team misses the playoffs again. Can’t really argue he deserves to stick around. The team just hasn’t improved since he arrived.

Why we jumped all over ourselves to get the brain trust behind the Phoenix Coyotes (Tre and Maloney), Carolina Hurricanes (Peters) and last season Senators (Cameron) and Canucks (GG) is beyond me. The only explanation is these guys come cheap. I seriously question the hockey intelligence of our ownership group behind targeting executives from losing organizations over and over again.

The only thing worse than losing 9-1 are the comments after losing 9-1...

While you do that you should also continue to follow Andersson, Dube, Parsons, Kylington as those players were acquired in the Baertschi, Russel, Hudler, Andy Glencross trades

Haha, why don’t you dazzle everyone with a great comment?

Or was that it?

Then the bunch of you were right. It became fairly obvious fairly quick he was not a good fit.

Personally I’m not there with Peters, but I can’t for the life of me wonder why a proper search wasn’t conducted. Companies conduct a search to hire the janitor and secretary let alone the head coach. Nope he’s the guy. How do you know if you didn’t talk to anyone else? Makes NO sense.
