I personally think they should send Lazar down - no reason for him to be in the pressbox

Weird that Lazar wants to leave but they're keeping him (apparently).

Weird only given his statement. It makes sense otherwise.

Very surprised about Valimaki making it, but super excited about it. The kid hasn't played a year yet in pro and makes the NHL on his first shot.

Yes, it sounded like he has already told that he was going to Stockton?

Could be some kind of visa issue for Lazar.

Or perhaps there is a player who is not 100% and keeping Lazar around just in case.

I think they are just going with maximum roster to start, no? Which would mean that either Andersson or Lazar would stay up. Aren't there normally three black aces?

I don’t think that is allowed. You have to assign players to the AHL to meet the 23 man limit, and they can’t be paper transactions. The player physically has to report

Wonder why Valimaki isn't wearing the #6 that he wore in junior?

Prout was already assigned #6.

Juuso Valimaki said he had the choice of No. 3, No. 8 and No. 29. He picked No. 8 to honour the “Finnish Flash,” Teemu Selanne.

Gonna give props to Dalton Prout, who managed to also make the team - even in a limited role. When we traded Eddie Lack for him, I didn't think he'd see the light of day on the Flames roster, especially playing as a journeyman for the Heat last year. No doubt his NHL experience is valuable to the Flames and probably part of why he's there.

Well done.

Huska loved him in Stockton. Said he was a great guy in the room, a leader. Probably pushed for him to stay with the big club.
