I'm shocked! An arrogant young NFL player saying he's better than a lot of other athletes in a game he doesn't play. I find this hard to believe since the NFL is full of such respectful polite people, it's not like there are weekly reports of players beating their wives/gf's/kids/strangers or players being accused of murder or other criminal activity.
The NFL is a stand up league that values honesty and respect. I'm sure there will be a formal apology soon.

He should try Nascar first if he thinks other sports are easy, more than a few top college football players(hockey and other sports as well) that didn't make it to the big leagues are now enjoying great careers in stock car racing. Interestingly, they are changing tires on pit road, not driving the race car...

It's not that serious

NFL is by far the most athletic sports league in the world. NFL players are athletically superior to NHL players. I don't think anyone can dispute that.
However, hockey requires more skill than athleticism. No amount of athleticism can overcome the decades of practice a NHL player needs to reach that level.
Likewise, no amount of training will turn you into a top level NFL athlete. (We're talking the very top echelon here) The very best are, quite literally, genetically superior to the rest of us.
I have no doubt in my mind that if these top level NFL athletes had chosen hockey over football they would absolutely dominate the NHL today. But you're not erasing a 15 year skill gap in less than a year, no matter how athletic you are.
It would be a fun experiment to try out. Taking an elite athlete who's never skated before and see what level he could get to. Maybe more than 6 months though.
I suspect if a lot of these non-hockey athletes took up hockey as kids instead of their chosen sport they'd be really good hockey players as well.
Not quite the same thing but I recall about 10 years ago there was a sport show on Spike where they took athletes, albeit retired ones mostly, and had them competing in other sports.
That's my point. Part of why I dont follow football that much is because of most of the players. I get trash talking, I love it I just dont like how there are so many other major things players do. This was nothing, no one is going to care about this other than hockey fans. It wont make major news because he didn't hit anyone or break any laws. I'm sure this week an NFL player will be charged with something or suspended for something and everyone will forget this guy said anything.
If a hockey player said something like this, it would be league news and likely end in an apology lol.

Pros vs Joes.
The hockey bits of that were always the funniest. Joes couldnt skate. Neither could the non-NHL Pros.
I wager he could do it if he was practicing skating every day for 8-10 hours. An elite athlete in his prime? I recon it wouldn't actually be that difficult.
It would be much tougher than teaching Chris Pratt to play first base, and that was incredibly difficult.
It's hilarious how personal some people are taking his comments lol. It's a fun topic to think how other athletes could translate into another sport though. Imagine if Gretzky played soccer all of his life!
…As for Ramsay, well CM Punk is a pretty high level Athlete who dedicated a full2-3 years in training and we saw how that turned out in the UFC. You can't overcome years of training in a completely different sport no matter how great of an athlete you are.

Can't say I agree with the opening statement.
How are you defining athletic?
Are you suggesting that the o-line and d-line are more athletic than say ...
Elite swimmers
Elite boxers
Usain Bolt and other track athletes?
