But will that be enough for a guy like Bennett to produce when he is now on his third head coach already and the last two coaches apparently utilizing a very similar system?
To me it seems like he is in need of a gritty player like Neal or Tkachuk on his wings to take another step forward. Someone that can draw attention away from his weaker puck skills, unless of course he has finally found a way to beef himself up enough to make a difference on the ice.

You should go watch AC's Jankowski video he just posted. You'll see lots of Bennett in there with pretty strong puck skills, and physically controlling lots of guys. The problem is consistancy, but that was kinda the team theme for the most part last year. And the year before. And the one before that one too.

I was very high on Bennett when we drafted him, but as time has gone by I have become more and more down on him.
With that being said you still see those flashes. I still think Bennett can become a 50 point player.

After watching the Jankowski highlight thread I'm actually slightly optimistic about Bennetts chances going forward.
Looking through it there is definitely skill there. Ideally he adds some more weight this offseason to be stronger on the puck. It would be a huge boon for the club if he could somehow post 35+ points this year.

Bennett will likely never be as bad as he was last season...
There were so many factors but I also watched the Janko video and Benny is exceptional along the boards and with the puck, just gotta work on the shot a little and he's poised for a major breakout.

Well, it's certainly true that Bennett has shown absolutely no improvement under Peters so far. I suppose one could quibble about sample size, but that would just be silly.

I guess, though "the last two" is oddly worded then. But yeah, must mean what you suggest.

It can't mean that. Look again:

Peters is the third head coach. Therefore, the last two can only be Hartley and Gulutzan. Hot Flatus is quite plainly saying that Hartley and Gulutzan employed very similar systems (or that both their systems were very similar to Peters', which is much the same thing).
It would appear that he is in fact talking through… uh… (allowing for his username here) the orifice in which he seems to be keeping his head.

Agreed, that was the point of my original question. Perhaps I gave too much benefit of the doubt thinking it must be GG and Peters he was referring to.

I actually think he is including Peters in "the last two" because (a) they supposedly use a similar system and (b) Bennett was pretty good under Hartley. I could be wrong though because the wording sure makes it sound the way you say.
Either way, your last point is correct.

Most people want to see what Bennett can do under Peters and say it's not worth trading him. The thing is (have to quote the Million Dollar Man) everybody's got a price, that being said what would you trade Bennett for if you had to? What kind of player would you target and what's a realistic example? I think they would target a legit goalie or at least a young guy with lots of potential. Maybe a deal around Korpisalo or something, the dream would be Saros but that isn't happening.

Man I hate this thread and its alarmist title that insinuates that Bennett should have been traded already. Can't it die already.

Nah it was near the top already.
Rocky had a pretty epic air show tonight, and I am a few wobbly pops in.

Bennett will have some quality linemates this year and his linemates should be stable through the season. This, plus a coach that plays quick, should do wonders for the player.

Just such bad takes by Hot Flatus in this thread. Some people are so blinded by their disappointment about Bennett you can tell they aren’t able to objectively evaluate him or his game. I mean going on and on and on about how weak he is? Were you watching the past 3 years? This isn’t Kristian Huselius. Bennett is strong on the puck and along the boards.
Hot Flatus’s take is so far from reality it’s embarrassingly laughable. This thread is embarrassing and brutal. The thread title is a joke and the OP is a hater. It’s really one of the worst threads that has persisted for most of the last year. I can’t believe Bingo bumped it again after finally falling off the first few pages.
Die in a fire is how I feel about this thread.
