I bet on Belgium after they went down 2 - nil.

Feelsgoodman.

I think they'll actually be more comfortable against Brazil. They are great on the counter and seem to have problems with teams who are defending deep.

That header for Belgium first will be overlooked in everything else but that could be the top goal. Fully intended as a shot on net, no matter what the plumber on Tsn said.

Such an unbelievable World Cup. Even Sweden/Switzerland might end up being a thriller - or am I getting carried away?

All four plumbers on BBC (Shearer, Ferdinand, Klinsmann and Lineker) all have it down as a fluke.

Who knows? Looked great though.

Not that it matters, but I agree with those saying he was trying to play it across the box.

Awesome game to watch. I mean, not quite a thriller like Russia-Spain, but still pretty good.

Boooooo what an unfortunate result. Japan should have won.

I agree, this should be a very tight match. In fact every match from here on out should be close, hard-fought games.

Just re-watching the highlights and you know what? It looks like Fellaini elbowed the Japanese defender in the back of the skull on his goal.

I mean, nobody is surprised, but its there.

Also, if they play anything like that against Brazil they're going to get slaughtered. I'm still not convinced about Martnez's tactics and while they might still have an aerial advantage against Brazil its not going to be nearly as pronounced as it was against Japan because Brazil's CBs are big guys that will mark up.

Once again though, its about growing into tournaments and improving game by game, so take the win, make the adjustments and Belgium/Brazil is going to be Epic.

In fact I dont hate him at all, hes become a very fun player for me, granted hes played for Everton and United so hes the scum of the Earth, but I like him when he plays for Belgium.

Its all about elbowing the right people in the skull. As long as they're not Liverpool or Germany players, elbows away!

Seriously though, look at the replay, I'm pretty sure he gets his elbow into that Japanese defender. It is Fellaini, its far from outside the realm of possibility.

I did, and I didn't see an elbow at all ... Fellaini actually puts his arm down. He just beats the smaller defender and crashes into him, but that's a clean goal every day and twice on Sunday.

I don't hate him all the time.
Just when he is in the starting line up.
I like him on the bench.

Geez....you United guys are always so defensive, I'm having a little fun at Fellaini's expense. Relax.

The funniest bit of the Neymar incident was that while Layun's right toe was on Neymar, his right heel was on the fourth official, who didn't even react to it.

Croatia's results notwithstanding, what a delight this World Cup has been. Great entertainment from most teams. All sorts of teams elevating their game and producing a great product.

Anyone missing USA, Holland, Chile or Italy? I'm definitely not. And the supposed big teams that have been bounced have deserved it.

I was thinking the same thing today.

Is the gap in talent between nation's getting smaller? Or is this tournament going to be fairly unique with all the upsets? Im not sure which is the case. All the penalties and OGs may have evened the playing field a bit.
