-1 of Gillies or Rittich, ~850K.

That's around $74.57M for 13 forwards, 8 defencemen and 2 goalies. The cap is $79.5M. So the Flames have about $4.93M to spend if they don't bridge Lindholm or Hanifin or free up cap space some other way (by trading Stone).

Adding Lindholm, Czarnik, and Ryan really does provide so much more flexibility on this roster.

3 RH Shot players that can play C or RW.

Really provides Peters with the ability to have a very fluid FWD group that can be mixed around.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Lindholm

Would rather start the season with a guy who has played RW somewhat consistently instead of experimenting with Tkachuk or Johnny on their off wing. Plus another good faceoff guy when Mony is thrown out of the circle.

Line #2

Tkachuk - Backlund - Frolik

3M wasn’t as dominant last year as it was the year before but they’re still great defensively with lots of potential to put up points.

Line 3A

Bennett - Ryan - Czarnik

Bennett absolutely has to take a big step forward this year. Not being stapled to guys like Stajan and Brouwer should help. Czarnik is pencilled in currently on this line but a great showing by someone like Foo/Lazar at camp could bump him down.

Line 3B

Mangiapane - Jankowski - Lazar/Hathaway/Foo

In a perfect world the bottom 2 lines would get near the same TOI with Ryan and Bennett getting additional PP time. Would love a group of young guys like this really take a good step this year.

If Brouwer is still on the team he’d be an expensive scratch but I’d rather he was eating popcorn and the young guys getting meaningful minutes in the AHL.
