Thanks! Ah the play per view era, they would have televised games at Maple Leaf Gardens and some private clubs in Toronto. I just saw the schedule, its the first game on Saturday, 4 day rest only.

If you would have told me that he snorted coke after scoring a game winning penalty I would have refused to believe it if not for this video evidence.

It was one of the best games of the tournament.

I am excited and nervous for the Germany game tomorrow. Germany needs to ensure they have a huge win against the Koreans, to ensure their participation in the Round of 16.

Based on what we've seen so far, Mexico could've been penalized there.

That’s the risk of playing a keeper who hasn’t played all year... at least Neuer recovered in time

Korea isn't as talented as Mexico but similar speed on the counter. The german CBs and wings are going to have to be ready to track back quickly.

Germany will probably pip this game, but they've looked quite poor so far. Bringing Khedira back in looks pointless, so slow.

I don't understand. VAR is terrible, that was a handball against Mexico.

That would have been a weak call. The part of the arm it hit was tucked against his body.

If it were ball to hand, I could understand him having it tucked, but that was his first touch. An intentional touch.

it may have hit his chest first, that saves him.

It's too bad that the one guy who could ping balls down the wings, Ki is out with a calf injury.

Problem is there's still discretion and grey area there too. Should a player be given the benefit of a doubt if a poor touch first leads to a hand ball 2nd?

it depends, where would that poor first touch have gone if it had not hit the hand 2nd? is the hand blocking space? or is it blocking an opportunity for the attacker to get the ball?
The ball-to-hand argument we always hear from english commentators is bunk. You can't for example stand in the wall with both arms stretched into the air and argue that it would be ball to hand.

Le sigh, Mexico blowing this after beating Germany would be the most Mexico thing they could do.

Germany have to actually win first for Mexico to blow it. And Germany were appalling in the first half. So we'll see.
