Could you imagine this team with 2 80+ point wingers?
Panarin holds way more value than Simmonds.

That’s why I said you can get Simmonds for a chooser price?

Since this is a Flames board people will call u crazy but i would do it too (for a signed Panarin). Panarin is a Gaudreau level player hes not comparable to Tkachuk

Tkachuk is the last guy we should trade. I'd trade Gaudreau before him. There's very few players I'd trade Tkachuk for, Panarin is definitely not on that list.

Tkachuk is not even close to Gaudreau. I know hes the youngest and therefore "shinest" player on the team but he cannot carry a team like Gaudreau or Panarin

No, he can't carry a team like Gaudreau or Panarin, but he gives you something else that is really difficult to find. He drags his team kicking and screaming into an emotional game. It makes his teammates rise to the occasion.
He is also simply sensational along the boards and in front of the net, is already damn impressive defensively, and is improving. Put him on a scoring line, and he would close the gap between the aforementioned players substantially, while still giving your team other strengths.
No, I love Panarin, but Tkachuk is already quickly becoming an incredibly important piece to this organization. Heck, even Mike Smith made mention about how this team follows Tkachuk into a game.

We finally got one of the good Tkachuks and you want to trade him? No way! He is the grittiest player on this team and already one of the best producers.
Hamilton for Panarin makes sense though for both teams, if you know you can sign Panarin.

I'd argue, Tkachuk the type of player you win cups with and he has shown some very strong leadership intangibles to go along with a very unique skillset which would be very useful down the road. What Tkachuk brings would be very hard to replace. I would rather have both Panarin and Tkachuk, than one without the other. Chances are Tkachuk wants to stay here for his career, can't really say that would the case with Panarin.

Tkachuk is going to be on Gaudreaus tier very soon, and has some intangibles and qualities Johnny doesn't possess that are valuable. That would be really dumb. Also dont think Gaudreau wouldnt have put up Tkachuk numbers at 19 in the nhl.

Really? You think Chucky is an 80 point guy?

If he had a nose for the net finisher or an elite breakway speed winger with him I think tkachuk has that potential.

If he was with Gaudreau-Monahan he probably could hit that in the next few years. Backlund-Frolik aren’t the greatest finishers.
Sky is the limit for that kid IMO. No way I’d trade him

Yea it's not as simple as looking at Panarin and Tkachuck and pointing out the Russian currently puts up more points (while being six years older) and is more skilled so he's the better player.
Tkachuck's all around game, agitating qualities, toughness, defensive abilities (at such a young age) and his own raw skill (watch AC's latest video, he oozes skill with the puck on his stick) make him a very rare package.
Tkachuck's intangibles make him a very rare find. No doubt he's untouchable for us moving forward.

I love Tkachuk but i feel like he's getting very overrated in this thread just because he has some truculence. I hope im wrong but i see him as a 50-60 point guy over his career (which is great) but not at a ppg potentially art ross level like Johnny.

I think you're under-rating him if all you see is 60 points + truculence.
There's a LOT more to his game than just being tough. 2-way play, his ability down low, drawing the most penalties in the league, and extremely high skill level. As I said above, he's a very rare package of intangibles. It's not all about putting up the most points.

I'm genuinely just asking because I dont see that, I see like a 60 point ceiling, but I have no problem admitting that I'm wrong on that score.
In no way do I want to trade Tkachuk because he brings more to the table than just points, but again, Panarin is breaking 80 points right now.

Tkachuk will be a Ryan Smyth type player (and point producer) but with more agitation.

I’m going to keep repeating this in hopes it sticks...do not give up assets for a 30 year old Wayne Simmonds.
The guy is not what he used to be and will be Troy Brouwer 2.0 if you give him any term or $$$ on a contract.
Panarin would be great but I doubt he re-signs before UFA.
