Rumor is Thronton will sign for a 1 year deal for essentially whatever cap space they have left after their wheeling and dealing. Got a big 1 year deal last year because they had the space.
I think if they get JT, kovalchuk will sign there too.

Tavares signs with the Devils and the Sharks still sign Kovalchuk but give him 6 mil for 4 years only for him to flop coming back to the NHL and score 10 goals and 30 points

So it's Boedker (cap dump), a likely career minor league defenceman, a 2018 7th and a 2020 6th for a 2019 2nd, 2018 4th and two 5ths (albeit none this year).
Nice work Wilson. He's a really solid GM IMO.
