				 Unusual 80's TV shows

Going through retrojunk.com looking at all the shows I used to watch in the 80's and I have found alot that I have totaly forgotten that I used to love and watch.
Stuff like Today's Special, 3-2-1 Contact, Square One, C.O.P.S, James Bond Jr, M.A.S.K. etc.

Everyone remebers stuff like Thundercats, GI Joe, Transformers. What are some of the more obscure TV shows you used to watch in the 80's?

I am also looking for the name of a PBS show that was based in a small town print shop (I think?) and two kids and an older guy who was like their guide traveled in time or to different dimensions. Kind of Dr Who ish. They had some computers too. Any idea?

Wasn't that show you're looking for something about a closet/chest full of costumes/objects? They'd pull one out and put it on and then go to the place or something?
Ahhh Today's Special... I got into that when I got too mature for Teddy Ruxpin (the mudblups scared me...)

What was the half hour Nintendo commercial where the guy used the Nintendo gun and had a Nintendo controller on his belt? All the good/bad guys were Nintendo characters?
Ohhhh, and Captain Power too... and Captain Planet and the Planeteers |

Is Airwolf obscure? You know, that show with the Helicoptor. I have really faint memories of that show because I was so young when it was on. But I remember it.

And Beauty and the Beast with the actress from Terminator and the deformed lion looking guy who lived in the sewers. That was awesome.

And the toys. C.O.P.S. with caps! spent many a day with burnt off fingerprints and the smell of gunpowder in the basement.

Wasn't that the one where this manequin would come to life after the store closed, if you put his hat on or something -- and there was the crazy talking mouse?

I was all about watching Inspector Gadget at lunch. My damn friend kept telling me that they were going to show Dr. Claw's face the next episode and I always believed him like a sucker.

Ron Perlman (he of Hellboy and tons of other roles fame) played the beast, too.

Yeah, the mouse was Muffy... and Sam, the security guard, and Jodie the chick who brought the manequin to life (Jack?). The actor who was the manequin went on to do Phantom of the Opera (he was the phantom).

Yeah, that always ticked me off about that show, you never got to see anything other than one forearm and his cat through each episode.

Well, only obscure to anybody who isn't Canadian, but Video Hits. CBC every weeknight at 5:00- we'd make a point of watching it. Back in the days prior to Much Music.

Remeber Samantha Taylor?

How about "Good Rockin' Tonight" with Terry David Mulligan and then later, Stu Jeffries.

I am going off the top of my head here. But I loved a show called "Voyager" or something like that. It was about this guy who travelled through time fixing problems and a kid who accidently got pulled in with him. It was differant from quantum leap because they could go anywhere in time. They quit making the show when the star, can't remember his name, played russian roulette with blanks in a gun and killed himself.
Here is a link.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voyagers!
Also a show called "Brass Monkey". It has something to do with an island in the South Paciffic and a magical brass monkey or something. I should really do an internet search.

How about 'Count Duckula'. I think it was a british cartoon that played on YTV after school when I was around 10 years old. I believe the 'Rocky and Bulwinkle show' and 'Camp Caribu' played aroud the same time.

I remember watching Rocket Robinhood, Astroboy, and Hercules later in the afternoon when all the "real" cartoons were over. Let's see, what else...Boomerang (bing, bong, bang its boomerang!), Turbo Teen (kid would turn into a car when he got hot), Shirt-tales (can barely even remember what they did)
The only obscure adult show that comes to my head is Street Hawk (super motorcycle thing), but I'msure something else will click

Or 'Ghost Busters' which IIRC was two guys and a Gorilla. I'm sure that was the reason the cartoon from the movie had to use 'The Real Ghostbusters'.
