If there's anything wrong with the Jets-Knights series is the frickin Coach's Corner with that idiot Don Cherry and his frickin whining. His comments are so damn subjective they're not even funny. Sportsnet and CBC is better without Cherry as they've got a pretty good panel of hockey analysts that speak objectively not siding in favor of any team.

Right. Pens got nothing for Fleury. Somebody out of conference could have given them something. Poor asset mgmt.

Revisionist history: Who would the Pens have lost if not MAF?
It is only poor asset mgmt if you believe that:
Losing MAF + losing next best available player - any assets obtained for MAF is better than just losing MAF.
This equation simplifies to:
Are assets received for MAF better than the next best available player with the disclaimer that I cannot recall if MAF had a no movement clause.

Since the Pens are out, I'm all in for this fun Vegas team. Want to see Fleury with another cup, back as the starter again this time.

They did get to keep all their skaters in the expansion draft. They also got to have Fleury in goal for the early rounds of the playoffs last year (in fact, IIRC, Fleury won 9 of the 16 games in their Cup run last season).
If the Flames had acquired Fleury at the deadline last year, the Pens would have had either Elliott or Johnson between the pipes when Murray got hurt and we wouldn't have been talking about a repeat.
If the Pens had traded Fleury before the expansion draft, they would have lost someone else to Vegas. That naturally make the acquisition cost need to be something better than what they'd lose.

I think trading a top 5 goalie and losing a bottom 6 player would have been a net gain for the Pens...They could have easily protected all their top end talent.
Again, tough to criticize the cup winning team but I think the missed the boat a bit having two high end goalies.
Look at their roster, they wouldn't have lost much

Pretty good for Vegas to get a road split, all things considered. We'll see if the Jets can respond or if their playoff wheels start to fall off.

You read some of the comments and it makes it sound like they have already lost despite it being 1-1 and the jets winning the first game.

It's just gonna come right back to goaltending. MAF stole that one. Jets totally overtook them. Isn't this why the game is so great. These tilts.

Why do people take Grapes so seriously? Take him for what he is and he's actually pretty good for a chuckle or two. The guy bleeds hockey and has good intentions. You can't take him too seriously but overall I think he adds to the production.

The winner of Game 3 in a tied conference final has advanced to the Stanley Cup Final nearly 82 per cent of the time (35-8) in NHL history.

So, he is doing what he is paid to do then?
He isn't there to do anything but give his opinion on lots of different things. Whether you agree with him or not on those things is entirely irrelevant.

Do what I've done for years: turn the channel or mute it when that blowhard comes on the screen.

Really? I thought Hellebuyck was the better goalie last night, and Vegas just had way more quality chances. None of the Vegas goals were really savable.

"stole" would suggest the Jets dominated play...they didn't. Vegas was full marks and deserved the win.

Has Sheifele always been a whiny bitch or is this new? Everytime I see him fall down he's yelling and screaming and looking to the ref. Loved it when he realized it was Engelland he was messing with and totally tucked his tail between his legs. I thought the Jets flopped alot last night.
I really want to like the Jets but for some reason every time I watch them I find myself cheering for the other team. I do like the way the Knights play though, fast and tenacious. Going to be a great series.
