Well if the bad calls were a wash, and the right team went through, then there shouldn't be any complaints. I'm not seeing any Liverpool supporters saying that Trent shouldn't have had that called, and even heard a few say that the late penalty was a makeup call for that.

As far as the Trent one, it does look obvious. However the officials all missed it, and so did all of the Roma players. In the moment, not in slow motion, it may have been way harder to notice. Judging by the lack of appeals on the part of Roma, that's probably the exact case.

yeah, that's awful to see an Achilles just blow like that. End of World Cup and international career too.

Yup....thats really the worst. Long term injury right before your last major international tournament.

What a run by Haidara to give Salzburg life. Tense finishes ahead in both matches.

Haidara will be off to Leipzig by the way. Just a tragedy that Salzburg has to serve as a farm team for them ... but that makes this EL run even more impressive.

Sadly couldn't get tickets for today ... but so awesome that another comeback is on its way. This team just doesn't quit.

One last no show from Ozil to close the Wenger era. Beyond insulting that he's on £300,000 a week.

Arsenal have absolutely nothing going forward. What a spineless performance. Think they got one shot on goal. That entire team needs to be gutted top to bottom.

Its awesome! The Germans are making the English pay their players.

Watch him light up the World Cup and just enrage Arsenal fans.

oh well, it's been a hell of a tournament. Beat Sociedad, beat Dortmund, beat Lazio, almost beat Marseille. For an Austrian team, that's so rare and remarkable that it's hard to put into words. They would have deserved the final, but that's football.

I hope Marseille get crushed by Atletico in the final. Still hate Payet and his antics.

Poor officiating yet again. Doesn't inspire much hope we'll have controversy free finals.

Echo & The Bunnymen Reschedule Show To Watch Soccer Match, Move It Back Following Fan Backlash

https://www.stereogum.com/1995600/ec...backlash/news/

Quote:
The band hails from Liverpool, and like most other Liverpudlians they’re super excited about Liverpool FC advancing to the final of the UEFA Champions League, the season-long soccer tournament featuring top clubs from leagues all over Europe. For non-soccer fans, the Champions League final is arguably the biggest match of the year in all of club soccer; it’s a rare and special occurrence to see your favorite club advance that far. Unfortunately, the Bunnymen are scheduled to perform at the Birmingham Symphony Hall on Saturday, 5/26, directly conflicting with the big game. By sports-fan standards, it’s an excruciating situation.
