$1440ish/seat for row one of the 300 level. I'd be more upset if I didn't already have $400 in credit from selling games.
But, this is where Treliving and Peters has no rope. If next year is anything like the last two, I'm done.

maybe i'm just totally soured on the man(and everything flames related aside from the on ice product), but the largest part of the letter was talking about how awesome and generous the owners are(yes, it's millions of dollars!), and then immediately jumping into the arena issue where he states they have stepped back but are committed to us and keeping the flames here, which to me seem like entirely contradictory statements
however like i said, it could just be personal bias and we have more than enough places to discuss this topic, so it's the last i'll say of it

Well, I have great value seats but this is a very high increase. My guess is they are wanting to dump the standard fan for high rollers before they build the new arena. I have never considered the tickets expensive until now.

Sorry, but that is pretty ridiculous. Trying to dump the standard fan??? Whatever that means. It just sounds like you are looking for an excuse to cancel your tickets and telling yourself the team hates the "standard fan" helps you do that. The increase seems pretty similar to what they have done the last several years.

There is no mention of the "free" food combo pack that came with the seats previously, so I imagine it is not being offered (at least to me) anymore.
...my desire to return is not very high, especially with no good options to move seats last year. If I could get down into the 200s in a decent spot, I may think about coming back, but right now...meh
|
in previous years the free food offer was part of the mailed out package. One year I got a separate e-mail from my rep stating it was included in the renewal as well. Assuming the details on that are largely unchanged (I'll wait and see) I'll likely be renewing for only a $5 increase.
I'd be pretty ticked if they increased my seats almost 6% though after that abortion of a season. I can understand people letting their seats go.

5.6% makes it a real easy decision. dump the season tickets from the other team <cough roughnecks cough>. that will cancel out the increase this year and any similar increase next year.
beyond that...I will move down a pricing level if need be.

I've only been a season ticket holder since 2004 but this is likely the largest increase in price I've seen. After the worst season of hockey the Flames have had in that period. Shocking. I think the owners are in for a bit of a surprise on renewal rates.

I mean are people surprised people are reacting this way to a 5.6% increase?
I don't understand the optics of this whatsoever, this is the largest increase I've seen in the 5 or so years I've been a STH. And this was definitely the most disappointing season I've seen (especially at home).
I really don't get this high of an increase, I'm very seriously considering dumping my tickets. It's hard enough living in another city with Seasons...

Flames have become a revenue sharing recipient team and probably need to increase revenue to keep up. Is the cap cap going up again next year?

That's a BS excuse. Half the teams in the league are revenue sharing recipients, including last year's Western Conference Champions.
Rising ticket prices increase HRR, which increases the cap. They don't need to raise their prices to keep pace. Ticket prices set the pace.
The Flames play in one of the smallest markets in the league. They should be a revenue-sharing recipient. Revenue sharing money should be coming to Calgary, not going out to help prop up the garbage franchises like Arizona, Carolina, and Florida.
Last year was a 5% increase for a playoff team with a winning record at home. Two years ago, there was a price freeze for a bottom-five team that still had a winning record at home. This year, a 17-win home record is worth a 5.6% increase, apparently.

5.6% increase is still worth it to get away from the young family a few nights a month with no guilt trip. Normal night going out with boys for a few beers....I get the guilt trip. Flames game or rec hockey with the same guys, nothing. Worth it for me.

I totally understand the above and shared the same when I lived in Calgary.
But what I increasingly found was the latter was much better than the former...rec sports or heading to the pub/bar for a couple of drinks with the guys. I just don't have fun at these games anymore.

Lucky you! I get the guilt in all those ways, except for rec hockey.
5.8% increase averaged across my Red2 and White level seats. I remember one 5% increase back in the mid 2000's, but I think this is the largest to date since I became a ticket holder in 1999.
I'm pretty frustrated by it. It was the worst season to watch in 15 years .... and the cost goes way up. The whole game experience has been declining for a number of years.
I'm not sure if I will renew or not, but I probably will. The fact I'm debating it for the first time in nearly 20 years says something.

I am renewing. But, I wholeheartedly agree with this. The in game production is very processed and lacks any creativity.
IMO as a top priority they need to re design the jumbotron and more than double the size of the video screens. ..as a starting point.

According to the Flames website, season tickets in the PL (Rows 4 and up) are $19.99 per game: https://www.nhl.com/flames/tickets/seating-map
Is that just incorrect? For two tickets that should work out to only $1799.10?
