This jerkoff coward wanted to die, and that cop did a fantastic job denying the culmination of this moron's plan. Other than the actual victims fighting back, I've never understood the desire by some for summary justice aka execution. I'm more enraged and feel no satisfaction when a pathetic cowardly mass killer dies without facing justice. He easily qualifies for consecutive sentencing, no parole for 250 years.

Think of the 100,000 of thousands it will cost us tax payers to keep him locked up. During the trial the victims have to hear about it day after day. Hell how log till he goes to trial??

And honestly Canadian Justice?? 3 square meals a day, free room and board. A lot of these murders are treated better then our war veterans.

Sad

I thought there was a study that showed it's more expensive to have someone on death row versus life in prison?

Either way I don't want to be a country that has the death penalty.

If it saves that one officer a life of post-trauma it's worth it all alone.

Sad day indeed. I am glad they didnt shoot him, in the event they can get information about any possible connections. Though if he is a lone wolf, they will find out soon enough.

However this is a case where I would have no opposition to Capital Punishment. Get the info from him, if any, then put him to death. Firing squad, lethal injection or electrocution. Couldnt care less if its an inhumane death. Just get it done.

Having the police officer shoot the man to save money is making the officer judge and jury. The officer recognized an option to deescalate the situation and not kill the guy and he should be commended for his actions. He performed his duties extremely well. Canada doesn’t need to become a police shoot first, ask questions later type of civilization.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Maybe next time he’s holding a trigger to an explosive device. Scary times we live in

I take it you've never been in a laundry room on your own in a federal institution?

You know, there are countries that you can live in that would satisfy your need for instant justice.

Why is wanting to see a brutal murderer pay the ultimate price so frowned upon on CP?

Why is this desperate times? And why do these so called desperate times warrant changing police engagement procedures.

Maybe next time the explosive device is wired to a dead mans switch so if you shoot him it goes off. I mean if you really want to inflict mass casualties blowing yourself out after they kill you seems like a better strategy then telling the cops to kill you while not pulling the trigger on an explosive device.

The police officer did an excellent job and appeared to follow procedure in should be recognized.

We're all much more cruel and vindictive when it comes to punishing murdering scum. We want them to suffer for decades upon decades, not a few seconds.

Because we understand that the same practices that lead to shooting this guy dead leads to shooting unarmed victims in different incidents

Because we understand that the police enforce laws not administer punishment

Because the person wanted to die and so giving him his wish rewards him

Because we believe in a system that would rather a guilty person go free than an innocent person go to prison

Because we believe that their is risk in allowing the militeriation of police.

Thats just off the top of my head

I didn't say anything about wanting the cop to shoot him...

It's normal for some people to feel anger after a situation like this, just not on CP I guess
