Interesting that Meyer says (in his tweet) Nenshi doesn't support an area. I thought that was in his video he put out around the election with Cornish in it as part of the Vic park plan.
I know its Twitter so there is probably more to that comment.

Ever since Nenshi eagerly said he has a vision for the Victoria Park area with an arena, the Flames have walked away and are waiting to see what that means.
This is about the time that the Victoria Park master plan is should be released to the Public with LRT and Arena site. So it makes sense the City is trying to get the Flames back to the table.

Actually I am just being polite because get the pitchforks if anyone commits blasphemy about Nenshi or Ken King or the Flames ownership.
Nenshi's demands and lack of really wanting to discuss in sensable manner are just much of a reach as the Flames Ownership really being sensable with their stance. Neither appears to be really willing to make any significant progress to find a middle ground,
As for King the guy is an Elmer Fudd & shouldn't be the representative on behalf of the Flames.

The following can all be true:
a. Nenshi put an arena in his video but also doesn't want an arena (or at least it's not a big deal to him). He may have just known that a lack of an arena would be a huge red flag at that point. Chu may be abridging the position a bit, but I don't doubt that Nenshi has expressed at least a lack of concern if there's no arena.
b. Chu is telling the truth and Chu is an idiot. I don't know Chu but even idiots can be honest.

If the Flames really did want resolution, you'd think they'd really, really welcome such a move. Instead, it's "nothing's changed". Well a move to try and reopen negotiations which one could only logically assume new ideas and new people IS a change.
Do they want an excuse to move? Makes me wonder.
