Hanafin, Faulk and? Maybe Slavin?
I don't think very much of Pesce and TVR and Dahlbeck other than depth pieces.
Overall it's not that impressive. Hanaifin of course being the core guy on their back end. Faulk being the vet at a ripe old age of 27.

You don't think much of Pesce? He is a gem, how is this possible? Saying they have no D is a bit ridiculous.

Pesce is a better Dman than Hamonic. Slavvin is Carolina's #1 so he's hardly a "maybe".

I mean they have some nice players coming into the team as early as next season in Fleury and Bean.
As for Pesce, just never seen anything other than a stable depth guy.
Anyways, Just don't think they've earned best young D corps in the league title yet.

Over Hanafin? What? Are we just going mad now?
A lot of players are better than Hamonic, that doesn't mean much to me.

No, we have heard we have the best D group period, I just said imo the Canes have the best young group. Certainly better than "No D"

Did I say they had no D? Don't think I did, just said I don't think it's worth the hype yet. Soon, but not yet.

Peters thing there were rumblings about around 2 months ago now. When the new owner in Carolina started meddling, and everyone knew Peters had an out, I'm sure discreetly inquiries were made.
My guess is AV likely has his destination picked too, since he's been free since likely before the letter from the Rags GM taking about the rebuild and that was almost 3 months ago.
Sutter has enough ties that discreet inquries could be made too. I don't think he and Treliving are a great match, and Treliving has to nail this one to save his own skin, , and in addition to maybe the philosophical conflict, Sutter would also come in with a reputation and stigma that would over shadow Treliving.
And, to that point, Sutter had only really worked under 1 GM in the last 21 years, and that was Lombardi. 5 years in SJ, then 3 months in 2003 here under Button before he got the gig, and then of course himself until 2012, then back to Lombardi. So him working for anyone else that he's not super close with could be an issue for both men.

Lombardi + Sutter introduced by the Flames in April, 2019 or 2020?

If this goes like many people suspect it will, Jan 2019.
Having said that, I do hope it works out and we are laughing at this thread in a years time.

I would say that is almost a lock if this team is well out of a playoff spot by Christmas. This is a risky move by Treliving and I really hope it pays off because I think this is his last summer to shape the team and if they falter he likely won’t last the season

If they are paying Peters $2 million a year on a 3 year deal I don’t see them canning him after only 1 year no matter how bad it gets. Guess I’m not sure what would happen since Treliving is definitely on a shorter leash. He has yet to do anything to earn himself some rope.

rofl so we aren't even giving Treliving a season to see this through?
If Treliving is making moves in an attempt to maximize the short term to save his job, we're in big trouble.

lol let's not introduce some "the team is moving" panic into this thread.
This forum is absolute cancer right now. I hope no players, coaches, or management are reading this, because we should be embarrassed.

The Lombardi and Sutter for 2019 could actually be reality if the season turns into a dumpster fire.
