So with the Kings gone and the Ducks on the ropes, are we finally starting to see the California teams fall off? I sure hope so. Sharks are still a handful obviously, but the slower, aging rosters of LA and Anaheim just aren't able to keep up with the speed, skill, and relentless forechecking of teams like Vegas. Hopefully the Flames can turn themselves into that kind of team going forward.

McNabb with the series winner. Must feel good.
Great series even though it was a sweep. Very tight and tough hockey. Fleury was awesome, good for him such an underrated goalie.

Oh they're playing fantastic for sure. I'm just not going to cheer for them. They're a division rival. They're annoying.

Maybe I missed something. What's there to dislike? A team of castoffs having a historic season, I'm glad I got to see it.

Just saw the morrissey crosscheck. Dirty, suspension will result. Having said that Boudreau is such a beady-eyed little whiner. Can't stand him, never could. Fine, you're upset about a missed call... but post game presser he is saying the refs looked right at it and didn't want to give them a 5 on 3. And that it cost them the game. Really? Wasn't that the first period and it was a one goal game? Boudreau is a child- don't blame your team's poor performance on one missed call.

They're an instant contender that was suddenly tossed into my favorite teams division and it pisses me off.

To be fair the Jets scored the game winner right after...that is a ridiculously bad non call

They play in the same division as the Calgary Flames and compete directly against them for a playoff spot.
That's enough for me.
I don't give a crap how hard they work or if "they're a good story".
I also think there's something to be said about paying your dues. First year in the league and you get to be one of the best teams? Yeah, no. (But that's just sour grapes from me).

I sort of get it, but in the end these guys are paying their dues now. They looked so good and it's hard to not appreciate that effort.

They are "castoffs"
but not really...teams didn't want to give these guys away, league made things pretty tough
95% of the teams in the league would switch goalies with them...MAF is their best player and I wouldn't call him a castoff...league only allowed Pens to keep one and they had two of the best.
It is unexpected...not gonna jump on the bandwagon though, not my style

Paying dues as an organization? Sure I get that. But these players deserve this. Don't sell this cast of characters short. Im cheering for Engelland here as a home town boy, cast offs like William Karlsson. Cheering for Fleury to make it further than Murray just for fun. EDIT: And Gerard Gallant for his work and coming back from being ditched outside an arena on the road.
Lots of little micro stories with these Knights.

Yeah, I waver on this one. On one hand, feel-good story and their playing style is admirable, on the other hand instant success for a team is really frustrating for fans of teams who have paid their dues over and over....

Yes, salary cap made expansion so much different. But in the end, so awesome for vegas. So hard to cheer against that.

I am surprised
I will be more surprised if they beat SJ who I think is quite a bit better than LA
I will be shocked if they beat the Preds or Jets
Then if they take out the Bruins or whoever...I may be eating a pube salad

Well if a certain team we love played with the passion and will that the Knights do, and our coaching built a system like theirs, then maybe we'd be in the big show with them.

Who underrates Fleury? He's 11th all time in playoff wins and has 3 cups.
