Love seeing the Ducks get killed like that, but I so wish it would have been the Flames doing it to them. Not even just to see the Flames in the playoffs, but just for the sense of justice in the world.
More sweet than bitter, but still a little bittersweet.

Kane looks amazing, when he's playing with guys with actual talent the kid looks like the real deal. He's like a Phil Kessel, a support guy who can do well when he's not "the guy" for a team.
I still want the Flames to sign him in the summer.

he's sure raising his price with his play, though.
I don't think the Sharks regret the rental fee for one second.
Watch these highlights. Look at how the Sharks score goals. There are basically two ways.
1. Quick counterattack goal off the rush through the neutral zone.
2. Setup in-zone, puck to net, chaos chaos chaos, rely on having quick hands for a garbage goal (usually on a power play).
They're a bigger threat than people give them credit for, and have a lot in common with the Knights in terms of play style.

Ducks can suck a big fat one. Hopefully it's a clean sweep, and in humiliating fashion.
I can't believe the Ducks have been so good for this long. I honestly can't wait for the day they become completely irrelevant and are at the bottom of the league for an extended period of time.

You can add three more years of the rapidly declining Corey Perry at $8.625 million as well.
And both with full no move clauses.
The Perry contract is worse than Kesler IMO. Kesler I could see having at least some value down the road because he does different things. Perry not so much.
Well my pick of Anaheim winning the series is looking pretty silly right now..
Honestly, it was a pretty tough call when the thing started. John Gibson has been really good this year. Ryan Getzlaf is consistently an absolute terror in the playoffs. The Ducks have an excellent blue line. The problem is that they're far too reliant on Gibson, and they're too slow to keep up with San Jose right now.
There's probably no rush to bring Joe back into the lineup now, at least not for next game, so that's another positive here. We might not see him until round 2.

Not to mention one timers. Something the Flames outside of Hamilton (sometimes Stone) would try only once in a blue moon.
Just another highlight reel that contrasts and exemplifies why the Gulutzan system was so poor at producing. We'd never get the puck up the ice with enough haste to get the time and space to make dangerous plays that have good chances of ending up in the net.
Okay, rather than responding to that substantively, I'm just calling the "no whining about Gulutzan in the playoff threads" rule. Seriously. There are at least three multi-page threads to complain about Glen Gulutzan. They go back and forth and back and forth endlessly. These threads are for talking about the playoff series. Please, for the love of God, do not de-rail them onto more Flames-related bickering.
