Hughson will probably be the lead guy for the foreseeable future, ball can and should start to get more national assignments though which would allow him to still do flames games

I like shorthouse, but i do wish vancouver had been able to keep baller fof tv, move shorthouse to radio

He was great doing lions games as well, he reminds me of cuthbert in his versatility

Different companies so it wont happen anytime soon but i think the best possible combo would be ball and ferraro

From a 100% selfish perspective, I'm worried the exposure and successful performance by Ball on these national broadcasts will mean he leaves Calgary broadcasts in the future and leave us with someone who won't be nearly as good...

Eventually Rogers was going to have to move on so I can understand why they did this. That said it's probably something they should have approached him about weeks or months in advance as it sounds like at the end of the season they came up to him and said; "BTW you aren't working the playoffs". At this point is anyone really surprised Rogers would mishandle something like this seeing what they did to Stroumboulopoulos, Loubardias, Millions, etc? They're a crappy company.

Remember watching this live and my jaw dropping. For those that are too young to remember Dave Hodge was Don Cherry's first sidekick. Had that game not gone to overtime Ron Maclean may never have gotten his big break. As good as Ron Maclean is I will always miss Dave Hodge on HNIC.

As an american, I did not grow up with Coles broadcasts, but I love all things Canada so I was excited to see a Cole broadcast last year for the first time. I wanted to see what everyone was talking about, but I was very much underwhelmed. He wasn't bad, but he wasn't good either. He was clearly old and a little slow and made a few mistakes. I quickly realized that this was a familial thing. If you grew up with him, you came to love him, but I didn't and I didn't. I was happy to see a legend do his thing once, but that was enough for me. Not being Canadian, I feel that my opinion doesn't count, but I'm glad to see others get the call, but I hate the idea of a legend just being unceremoniously cut.
