I think he certainly is in the bottom of the league of starting QB's.

The statistics say otherwise.
How anyone can call this guy near the bottom of the league in QB's is mindboggling.
He isnt the one giving up the yardage and points on defense.....

Well no I am not saying he is infective because he still is, but let be honest they can’t go on forever and right now I think most would agree that the packers are in a rebuilding stage they aren’t looking for wins they are looking to develop players like AJ hawk, or Aaron Rogers its like you said they are youngest team in the league and if those rookies can develop enough over the next 2, 3 years in the pathetic NFC they could become playoff contenders
Look all over the league if there was ever a season to start a rookie QB it’s this one, just look around the league every where you turn a new rookie is given an opportunity and most are succeeding

Farve is there best chance to win right now, but the Pack aren't going anywhere this year so I would think it would be in their long term best interests to use the remaining season to groom/figure out their future QB situation.
That said, Rodgers looks to be the future but he is out for the season, so they may as well let Brett ride off into the sunset, guns slinging.

What is your point? The Packers should start Todd Bouman there backup?

Which is exactly why he SHOULD be starting.
With a young team like they have, there is so much to learn about competing in the NFL, especially at the QB position. It wasn't hurting anything or anyone to have Rodgers watching for a 2nd season from one of the best to EVER play the position.
Favre wanted to play, he gave his team the best chance to win.....it was a no-brainer to allow him to start and finish the season.
The only benefit of him retiring this year would of been to free up some salary cap, but the Packers have stated they wont play the FA game to the extent some teams do, wishing to build through the draft instead. Not a bad philosophy IMO...look at the top teams around the league year after year....how did they get there and stay there?

You should read all of a discussion not just on post
I stated at the being of this season they should have started Rogers obviously he is hurt now, but I am speaking in retrospect

I think the NFL is great. As a Bronco fan, the only other thing I could ask for is for KC to play Cleveland 16 times a year.
Go Broncos!!

The other benefit would be to give the QB of the future some experience. 2006 is a dead end season for Green Bay, now would be a good chance to look at the future.

QB rating seems to say he is. Unless there are more than 38 teams in the league, but you watch more than I do. I just see the INTs and crappy passes on the highlights.
I don't think it is his fault they are a bad team, I said no QB would win with these guys so if the fans are happy they might as well go with Favre.

This is sad, Miami is playing like themselves again down 17-7 at the half to the Jags.
Miami needs a miracle to win this game and stay in the playoff race, they got a nice result from KC, a win here puts them a game back, but there not playing like they want it.
Lets see what adjustments can be made at the half

Parcells cheering on the 4th down stop.
Will he be back next year, or is he ready to pack it in (again). I think earlier in the season it was a bigger question, but he looks like he is revitalized and having fun again.

He is 7th in the NFL in passing yards
he has thrown fewer INT's than Roethlisberger, Eli Manning, Grossman, Pennington Brees, etc...
He has thrown more TD's than Vick, Roethlisberger, McNair, Plummer, etc and sits 9th in the NFL in that category.
His passer rating is 13th among QB's that have attempted 300 passes or more, 3rd among those attempting 400 or more.
Yeah he sucks.

Geez Tranny, talk about skewing the stats in your favor.
Who cares if he is 3rd amoung those attempting 400 or more BECAUSE there are only 3 QBs who are in that position. Of course, you neglected to mention that.
Currently he sits 19th in the league in overall passer rating amoung starting QBs.
I'm not in the catigory of person who wants to label him as a piece of crap, but come on, you know better than to argue like that.

Pretty selective stats.
He has lots of yards because they are always behind and he can rack em up in the second half.

what is skewed is the cherry picking of stats.
Overall he is #19 in rating, in a team that should be able to help his ranking by giving him easier yards in the 4th Q.
The pack is downright dead in 06, time to look at the future.

WTF???
What is selective??
So 2nd half yds dont count as much as 1st half yds? I was not aware of that.
Even if that mattered...why are they always behind? Could it be because of the defense? Or is Favre, who apparently shouldnt be playing, the fault?
Thats the discussion here...who id GB better off with...Favre or Bouman?
