It just makes making the playoffs that much harder now for the Flames. I doubt we'll see SJ/LA/ANA/VGK fall drastically out of the race next year. Chicago should be back up to normal if Crawford is healthy.
Dallas getting a top tier coach will surely mean one of them will take one of the wild card spots. No way I see WPG/MIN/NAS falling out of contention either.
Flames bumble around and waste prime contract years for Johnny, Mony & Dougie.

I have been thinking about it and I would be open to Marc Crawford as our next coach. His resume with kids - Forsberg, Sedins, Kopitar, Benn, Matthews would give me hope for Bennett.

Boo! Boo this man!
You are bad and you should feel bad!
Why not just re-hire Mike Keenan while we're at it?

I'd be in for Keenan too. All of these suggestions are better than Gulutzan honestly.

I just hope Treliving is putting out a good package for AV. Let him know the team is interested in his services and would love to make a pitch for him. If Treliving is going to fire GG, he needs to do it asap.

Friedman thinks Bill Peters' window on his out option expires tmr or early next week. CGY decision on Gulutzan *may* be connected to Peters' decision & vice versa. It'd be very Flames to announce Gulutzan's firing today at 4:55.

Agreed on all counts.
AV owes it to himself to hear multiple pitches. You'd think he would listen to Calgary, Dallas, whoever. But in order to make that pitch, Treliving would need to figure out what he wants to do.

That's my worry.
Treliving doing the process with GG and not putting a pitch out until its too late.

Yeah there is no rush for AV to make a decision. We can all relax a bit, he is going to see what is available just like any free agent player.

My gut feeling is that with Humboldt being in the news and GG representing the Flames out there in the community during this tragedy changed the timing.

That's what it sounds like, but I'll believe it when I see it. I find it hard to believe Tre would hitch his wagon to another middling coach.

Well, if you put a gun to my head and asked me to choose between Gulutzan & Peters, I'd choose Peters.
Pro: He isn't Gulutzan
Con: I have a gun to my head

Can someone tell me why the Flames would be looking at him other than the Alberta connection?

Sound exactly like someone the Flames would hire.
