So far some nice defense by Johnny in the offensive zone. That's when he is at his best.
He looks inspired.

If there's an unexpected positive this season, it's the progression of the game for one Brett Kulak. He looks like a legitimate NHLer now whereas before this year I thought he might be a fringe player at best. He's established himself and now looks like he might be able to play 2nd pairing minutes next season if need be.

I like it when Johnny plays his aggressive take away game in the O zone

Agreed, I didn't think much of him at all the past couple of years in his spot Duty, but he really grabbed this opportunity by the balls and ran with it. Definitely a pleasant surprise for this fan.

Brouwer’s pass leading to the odd-man rush against which he then took a needless slashing penalty on...
It’s time for the Brouwer...to end.
This is it, right? He can’t be back next year...right?

Whats called a slash these days is what, for decades, was called good defense.

That's a crap call. You can't tap a stick now to break up a clear chance? FU ref.

I can't remember Smith falling on his face so much. He really is struggling since he got back.

Hard to believe Edmonton's PP is worse than ours. But then you look at the stats, and sure enough, it is. Amazing.
