Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Guy.
I'm glad Johnny is able to be there for him. I wasn't with my father when he had a couple of episodes and it was tough, waiting by the phone for updates and such.
Take your time Johnny. All the time you need.

The season is over for the flames anyways, no point in making Gaudreau play when he could be spending valuable time with his family. I say leave him out for the rest of the season; life is too short and family is too important. Gaudreau gave us a lot this season, it would be classy for the organization to not pressure him back.

This seriously bums me out. Guy is still pretty young and fit to be having a heart attack.
Get well Mr. Gaudreau, we're all pulling for you.

I can't see the Flames rushing him back and there is no reason to. Take all the time you need. He and his dad seem very close, and from the interviews I've seen his dad seems like a great guy.
Hoping for a speedy and full recovery for Guy and all the best to the Gaudreau family!

Just to clarify, cardiac arrest vs 'event' can be very different. Both are very scary, but event could be a variety of things. I assume the wording is specific for privacy. Both make me terribly sad for what seems like a terrific family.

Get well Papa Gaudreau!
I just love the story of him taking a job at an arena so Johnny can have extra ice time.
The love and dedication to his kids is very admirable since I'm a father myself.

Best wishes to Guy, he has been a great hockey dad for Johnny since day one and is obviously a big reason he's the player he is today. Hopefully he gets well soon and we'll see him back in the stands cheering on the Flames next season.

Here's what a Philly reddit user wrote with some detail of what happened. It's in spoilers because I don't want to offend if someone doesn't care to know a little more detail.
All the best to Guy and the Gaudreau family. Hoping for the best!

Best of luck to Guy in his recovery.
I would tell Johnny to stay home and forget about hockey for the rest of the year.

Speedy recovery to his father. Heart conditions are a tough thing to manage
Question - does Johnny get paid for personal leave while missing several games. It's not a small amount of money either.
I know in my personal situation owning a small business,
I got the goose regardless of family situation.

Here in LA, lots of people were asking me why Johnny was out. No fun breaking news like this. Even after a huge win they are showing remorse.

All the best, Mr Gaudreau. You seem a decent fellow, and I'd hate it if you weren't around anymore.

That's horrible news, I hope it's related to a treatable condition and he can make a full recovery.

My first thought is for Guy and the hope that he recovers as well as he can.
My second thought is that Johnny should stay there and be with his family. We don’t need him back this season, and even if we did, we are such a long way from home, it wouldn’t be fair to call him back.
