So can Delta take the government to court over this? I'm unfamiliar with how state law works, but I saw lots of folks on Twitter talking about how this is extortion.

Bowling for Columbine came on Netflix in Canada recently. Crazy it's been a decade and a half already.

Hmm according to USAToday only 13 people ever took advantage of Delta's NRA discount:

Good move by Delta. They can raise the prices of tickets accordingly and point back to the decision by the Georgia government if anybody questions the increases.

Action on guns and immigration screeches to a halt in Congress - The Hillhttps://apple.news/AfRw3znfSQWyvVa3P1ax2_w

Ah, so now they’ll wait till November to talk about gun control, apparently.

Had such high hopes.

It's been the requisite 3 weeks so they can stop worrying about it now as it recedes into the background.

Trump changed the narrative to NAFTA and tariffs, so they're good there.

Trump's stupid trade tariffs did a great job of distracting from the gun control debate, which worked out perfectly for the GOP.

We'll have to wait until the student march on the 24th for the gun conversation to get back into the spotlight. These kids are gonna have to work really hard to keep this movement rolling. They've done a good job so far with all these companies cutting ties with the NRA, etc.. but they obviously have a long, hard battle ahead if they want real significant changes to happen.

Hmmm this is confusing...

Due to a loophole in Florida law , you can’t be prosecuted if you lie about your background to buy a gun? Huh?

'Lie & try' to buy a gun, not a Florida crimehttps://www.wptv.com/longform/fl-felons-escape-punishment-when-they-lie-try-to-buy-a-gun

It also indicates the political environment may not be stable, according to Brian Richter, an assistant professor of business, government and society at the McCombs School of Business.

"It signals to Amazon that politicians in Georgia are more concerned about scoring points with constituents sympathetic to a particular social view than they are about whatever business or economic rationale they may have to direct benefits to a specific firm," he said.

Other companies thinking about expanding to Georgia could worry about politics interfering with business, as well, according to Wisconsin's Arora.

There's lots of talk in our papers about the Virginia governor meeting with Amazon. It seems it is Northern Virginia's to lose at this point. It always seeemed like the front runner anyway with Bezos ties to DC and access to DC as one of the qualifications.

That’s a good question.

Maybe because the kids had banded together the way they did.

Kind of unusual for here.

Obviously I don’t know what kids in the rest of the country are like except for what’s in the press. What I’m always hearing, however, is how uninvolved and out of sync the kids in Florida are.

This is , of course, just hearsay.

I guess I got carried away with the emotion, and thought, Ah, Florida is the sleeping giant who is going to awake and take care of the entire country. Our kids will show ‘em!!

I realize that so much is out of their/our control.

Hope is a four letter word after all!

By the way, thanks to CP again for all the great insights and concerns , etc.

You’re the best. All y’all!

The March For Our Lives in DC is scheduled on March 24. I think we're going to hear alot more from these kids as that date nears. It'll be interesting to see how many kids show up for this march.
