"Scoring" is the key word. We have enough size to accommodate a small guy like Tatar.

Road Flames with a road start have a chance against anybody, with a healthy Smith in net.

Any team is a threat if they have their goalie get hot at the right time. But if I’m a playoff team in the West I’m looking at Calgary as number one on my list of preferred matchups. Picking up Stewart on waivers does nothing at all to move the needle in that sense.

If the right deals aren't there, better to not do something stupid. I could see a big deal for the Flames at draft time.

There are four or five guys that are ufas on crap teams that should go.
But like Cammy here one year, players don’t like getting traded for an afterthought either, so the GM has to balance that for their and the organizations future reputation.
And then the Oilers leaving the Smyrh thing so late they couldn’t dump their other ufas.

They were in on Kane till the end, question now is if there is a plan B or if they stand pat.
NOTHING wrong with sitting it out this deadline.

Before everybody starts complaining, remember that the NHL has to process all the trades and not all trades will be announced by the deadline time. It will take 30 minutes to hear all the completed trades that are pending trade call and then we may still get a surprise or two around 3:00pm.
