Yeah - it's an issue if they count on him to be an everyday contributor.

However as bottom 6 depth it's okay, he's a bigger guy with some skill and some jam.

For me this is purely insurance in the case where we might want more size on the 4th line against and Anaheim or LA in the playoffs. Even Vegas just added Reeves.

All the haters talking about how slow he is, yet Conroy says he can move and some of those highlights AC put up show some pretty good speed.

He beat out Pietrangelo in a race for the puck while starting further back and scored a beauty. Doesn't look like a guy who is slow. Haven't seen Brouwer do anything like that.

Hopefully having the entire team on edge about accidentally being run over by the Stewie Sprint before the game will help them be more 'prepared to play' more often, lol.

Yeah, odd complaint. For a slow guy he sure gets (and scores on) a lot of breakaways.

This place is really going to the dogs.
I watched Iggy play last year and though he is not fast by any means he is faster than Stewart. The reason I would have rather had Iggy is though he might not bring much on the ice he would give the team a lift just to want to win for Iggy. Stewart shows up positively once every 10 games and takes a lot of dumb penalties.

It seems like we should be more worried about a consistent effort level, if anything.

Meh, he's better than some of the AHLers they've been rotating throughout the lineup like Lomberg, Hrivek and lately even Hathaway. Hell, he's almost as good as Brouwer at 3 mil less, lol.

Iggy probably wants three times as much dough, has come off of surgery (so his speed from last year might not be indicative).

I think the disappointment level with Iggy would be pretty high.

No, you're being ridiculous. (see, I can do that too)

WOW, 9 goals?! Amazing...

Good in the room... who gives a a rat's ass? Stajan is good in the room, Brouwer is good in the room. The fact is, what they do on the ice is what matters the most. And he's been scratched 7 times in the past 9 games and 12 times since Jan 4th. Great player, for sure.

In isolation, it's a no risk signing. I understand that. What pisses me off, though, is what it symbolizes. Instead of going for speed and youth, we get another old and slow player who's best season was 5+ years ago. We need depth scoring, Chris Stewart is NOT that. Last time he hit 30+points was in 2012-2013. And he scored 36. How will this improve our depth scoring?

Just because it's a no risk, doesn't make it a good move.

Friend of mine said he's a bit of a coach killer. I don't know why he said that. Does anyone?

For some here that would be a plus.

Actually if it is no risk it does make it a good move. It may not be an impactful move but by definition if an action contains 0 risk and 0 negatives and could potentially work out its an action you should take 100% of the time.

it's amazing how riled up some fans get because of a risk-free short-term addition that doesn't cost any assets.

Conroy on TSN just said they aren't sure when Ferland is coming back, so adding Stewart makes a lot of sense.

Give us a spark down the stretch, believe he can play up and down the lineup as needed and give depth.
