Home sweet home. I'm thrilled about this weather, personally. If you're going to do winter, you gotta do it right. These last two winters in Calgary have driven me mad.

Honestly if the weather is trying to make a statement it might as well break records. Go big or go home.
In addition, I heard a lady on the radio today mention that (paraphrasing) 'Its cold out there but we're Calgarians so we'll make it through it'.
Riiiiiight. What the **** else are we supposed to do?

Have you checked out http://wx.ca? Great little site, very easy to see the trends.

A foot of snow on the ground here for the last few days and about -10 right now...which is absolutely bizarre.
This is the most snow we've had since the blizzard of '96...and it hasn't been this cold for a long while. And it's November, just crazy. Right now it's supposed to be 10 degrees and raining, not -10 and snowing.

How the heck did we make the Drudge Report? Does Matthew Drudge have a bot that goes around finding news bits that fits into his main news headlines?
IE: Story on Global Warming - automatically the bot finds some story about wacky weather and tacks it on as if it had some relevance but probably has no real correlation.

AAAAAAAAAH, nice to be here in Auckland, where it's a balmy 22 C, and I'm typing this next to a palm tree!
In fact, I think I gotta open the window tonight, it's so warm.
Moved here from Calgary back in October, never looked back. Enjoy the weather back home, fellas!

I hear ya Frank. I grew up in London and now I wonder how I was able to be an outdoor labourer in that summer heat. Haying on farms, landscaping, even hauling around golfclubs in mid-30's heat & humidity. I'll take this cold - it's much easier to put on another sweater (although I do miss my family, especially this time of year).

Oh ya..but its a DRY cold ...larf! Calgary weather is suckage no matter what time of year it is...wait 15 minutes itll change...literally.
Brutal winters with Chinooks rolling by to tease the locals and spread flu and cold bugs....spring that starts in mid May and no autumn to speak of. Wrap those kids tight for halloween.
Summer is filled with cool nights and hail storms.
Lets not forget those lovely Mountain breezes either...glue those scull caps on...larf!
I think even with the humidity here in Suth'n Ontario our weather is far superior. I havent seen -20 for more than a few days here in almost 7 years, and winters average around -10.

We'll have to agree to disagree, Cheese. I'll take the cold over hot & humid anytime. And I doubt your winters are even -10; you haven't had a good winter since '77-'78 - even snowmobiles are a useless purchase anymore. SW Ont. slushy winter and hot, hazy, humid summers suck.

Acadia. Yeah, I find quite a difference sometimes between here and airport, and COP. Especially when chinook rolls in. Its interesting to watch. I've had the station for some time, but just recently hooked it up to computer.

LOL...yep you may be right on the winters...very Vancouver like...
Ill take hot humid summers with the ladies and how they adapt vs cool summers anyday LOL.
Nothing better than sitting out at 11pm on a summers night with shorts and a tee and a brew....as opposed to fully dressed.

When did you move to Calgary Bobblehead? Experience a chinook yet? One of the coolest things about winter in Calgary in my opinion.

8+ years ago, after living 30 years in SW Ont (primarily London/Dorchester).

I've been trying to convince my wife to let us move to the coast of Ecuador where we can buy a nice beach front house for 100k US and have a maid and personal chef for like $500 a month, and essentially become semi-retired. But noooooo she doesn't want to leave Canada. Women.
