Also a first and 2 2nds for Hamilton is a good trade, a 1st and 2 2nds for hamonic is a terrible overpayment, especially with the 1st looking more and more like a lottery pick in a deep draft.
You can't spell overrated without TRE.

Roster is fine. Points lost vs SJ ANA and LA in December and January were the result of a coaching staff who can't get anything extra from their players and leaving teams in games after dominating games. And 3 losses to the Oilers. GG saved his job with that streak but it's bandaged his lackluster motivational techniques.

Grabbing the best available goalie to him each year only to have them faulted is not Tres problem.
The Hamonic trade gave the flames the best d on paper... you win championships with solid d... Tre went all in and said rebuild over. Looking back it hasn’t been worth it but this is not a bad trade. Should the flames finish where they are expected to, you won’t watch a single one of those picks in the NHL for 2-3 years.... that doesn’t help the team today.

Nothing says NhL worthy like 7 goals on 26 shots. I don’t care if those 26 came while

Unusual that they didn't pull the goalie for the 4 goal comeback

That makes even more sad - that this is the sober and rested Flames effort.

So the team has no answer when the game don't go their way. No special line combination when we need a goal. Just rotate inefficient lines in any result.

Yeah that's why I just don't see where the optimism comes from. They have largely been a .500 team for two seasons and all of a sudden they are going to go on a clip of 6 or 7 games over .500 in a quarter of a season?

I’m assuming Glen is hoping that being embarrassed will light a fire under his ass to work even harder and respond better if he wants a shot to be a legit backup or even a starter. Some players respond well to this kind of “psychology” if you want to call it that some don’t. I’m assuming the head coach knows what buttons he can and can’t push not just with Rittich but with any player since he has a relationship with each individual player but hey that’s just my opinion.

Well, if the Flames lay another egg against the Yotes tomorrow, we'll know they've pretty much given up on the season. 2 massive points up for grabs tomorrow night. No excuses. Just get it done.

To have a realistic shot at the playoffs, the Flames need a win tomorrow and at least a point against the Avs. Also they need Smith back in short order. If either of those things don't happen, this team doesn't have a realistic chance of making the playoffs. Treliving and the Flames brass should be prepared to enter next-year mode...

I'm waiting to see my Raiders win a super bowl. I was a kid on the other ones. If they win in the next 10 years I seriously might die that night. It will be definite record setter

Just can't do one loss at a time, hey? Always have to do them in at least threes.

This was a bad game, but they actually had three answers when the game didn't go their way. They didn't just rotate lines. GG shortened the bench and shuffled lines. You can disagree with the way he did it, but to say he just rotated lines isn't true.
