I hate it when CBC puts up the bottom headline thingie when there are other graphics on screen and you cannot see everything

It's the worst during the long track speed skating events because you can never tell how far behind or in front they are of the leader
|

Controversy in the Men's Aerials. Chinese skier Jia Zongyang looked to have landed his first jump however started to stumble a bit down the hill and eventually fell over. The judges determined he was in control of his landing and did not deduct any points for the fall. This knocked out the Aussie David Morris while Zongyang went on to get silver. Canadian Olivier Rochon was 5th.

Anton Lander opens the scoring for Sweden over Finland. Assists to Linus Omark and Viktor Fasth.
Sweden is No Good.
Canada and Sweden both hold 1-0 leads after the first period.

Sweden and Finland are tied at 1 after 2.
Canada is up 2-0 after 2.
Canada needs to win by at least 4 to guarantee a bye to the Quarterfinal. If they don't get the bye, Canada will play Korea again in the playoff round.

Cuthbert clarified that was the circumstance if Finland wins an OT game, its only 2 goals if Sweden win in OT.

Yeah, but if the other game goes to OT, they won't know the result until the Canada game is over. If Canada wins by 4, it doesn't matter what happens in the other game.
Sweden has scored in the third and lead 2-1 with less than 10 minutes left to play.

Sweden wins in regulation. Canada gets the bye with just a win now. Goal differential doesn't matter.

tough road for team Canada but tbh the hockey was must watch viewing the last 5 olympics, this year i've watch like 5 minutes. Would i watch the final if they get that far? probably but only because a medal for Canada would be on the line, the same reason I'm not really interested in the world championships, there's more interesting hockey on elsewhere.

The hockey i have watched has been more entertaining this year than anything i watched in the last Olympics.
The quality is no where near as good, but it is far more even (for the most part) and interesting compared to what Canada did in Sochi.

Yeah, the stacked NHL Canadian team in 1998 was truly inspiring to watch. 
I guess that was 6 Olympics ago, but god I remember how disappointing that was.
