I'm still waiting for the rewrites on Tiny Dancer and Yellow Submarine, because I too choose to demand alterations to previously written pieces of art.

In the town where I was born
Lived a man who sailed to sea
And he told us of his life
In the land of submarines
So we sailed up to the sun

I'm also generally offended that Elton John's song doesn't go the way I choose to hear it:

"Hold me closer tiny dancer
Count the headlights on the highway
Lay me down in sheets of linen
You had a busy day today"

Hold me closer Tony Danza ("large sized dancer" would also be acceptable to me)
Count the headlights on the highway
Lay me down in sheets of linen
You had a busy day today

Same with "Smoke on the water...the fire in the sky.."

I much prefer: "Slow walking Walter...the fire engine guy".

They should change it to the Imperial March from Star Wars. The disco version

"Wheat kings and pretty things" is obviously misogynistic though.

I disagree with your preference. I think it is far too aggressive. Good news for us though, I fixed your post and you must now adhere to what I chose.

No gender issues to be found in that title

No, for most of his first season as the anthem singer, he sang it as "in all our sons command". Drove me crazy.

I'm surprised that line caused more consternation compared to the line with God in it.

Maybe they should go back to The Maple Leaf Forever.

Of course that would piss off the French, but you can't make everyone happy evidently.

Okay, okay, based on the whole "let's just go without lyrics" thing, here is my new proposed anthem.

The only issue is that I'd have to start sounding like Trump. Any NHL player who refuses to stand for Brass Bonanza should be immediately fired and thrown out of the arena.

They should have just changed it back to "thou dost in us command."

Or just make everyone sing the french version only.

Sometimes I wish our anthem was overly complicated like the Italian one which is four minutes long and has a 30-second instrumental intro.
