He fades to the backbench and serves out his term and doesn't run again.

But would this not be the same discussion if he were to used the "N" word? Would you be referring to the legions of black people? I doubt it, so why did you need to make a point that other women (not this one) call themselves yummy when another suggested it was inappropriate...
I can't believe people need to be told that calling someone "yummy" is sexual harassment and inappropriate. Probably the same people wondering why women needed to march last week.
|
It's not always. Context is always key. The fact that this was a workplace is problematic. Calling someone yummy at a bar, while weird, is hardly "harassment".

I hope they still investigate the power structure that found it acceptable for new hires to be warned to avoid being alone with Hehr. That is a failure similar in nature (though not severity) to how the CBC handled Gomeshi.
Similar power structure as well where the Talent can't or is difficult to remove and there is an ample supply of people who want to get their foot in the door of the political / entertainment industry.

Not good for the federal Liberals in Calgary, they finally have a breakthrough of sorts, getting 2 MP's elected and now both are accused of sexual harassment.

And he's going away to get help, and with the aid of his loving family and Jesus, he'll get through this and be a stronger person for it.
He probably should have been slid to the backbench months ago. He's come off like a class A jerk.

And what if he is innocent? I mean I get that the court of social media has already ruled on this, and with fairly severe consequences, but what if he’s actually not harassing women?

The fact that the man is in a wheel chair is irrelevant when discussing sexual misconduct.

I have heard allegations about him for years.
Still a few more to fall...

You have?! Maybe I am a terrible judge of character, but I find that just stunning. Like I have never heard him say things that are inappropriate toward women and surely never seen him act in a way harassing or demeaning them. I've seen plenty of greasy guys in my day, and if it were other people I wouldn’t be shocked, but I do find this so surprising.

It comes as a surprise to me, I thought he was gay. Seriously.
And when the allegations came out, I thought it was from men.

The only people I find more two-faced than politicians are middle managers.

Maybe you're not an attractive young woman in a precarious job.
Like it or not, these accusations are accepted as true by default, especially in cases like this (and Patrick Brown's) where there is a lot of anecdotal evidence and "everyone knows" stuff floating around.

Wow. Way over the line.
You're (rightfully) defending women being subject to verbal or even physical abuse in the workplace but you lose all credibility, not to mention the respect I had for your position, when you turn around and take a cheap shot in the poorest of taste about a person with disabilities confined to a wheelchair.
And your little hidden qualifier indicates to me that you knew your post was wrong.
Hypocrite. Shame on you.

sorry slava.
we can't have the what if debate.
I honestly thought he was just an insensitive jerk and perhaps a bully, which was bad enough.
I think the truth is coming out now about his long time harassment of women.
seems to more of how bad was it, rather that debating if it's true. and not just words, but unwanted touching.

Which is a condemnation on what our society has become.
I will say it til i am blue in the face...better a thousand guilty go free than one innocent be convicted.
ALL of these are merely allegations until proven otherwise. We have lost our way in this regard and sorry to say, its because of the SJW mentality. Its quite sickening, but they dont care who they bulldoze or destroy to get their version of "justice".
Even if found innocent in a court of law? Damage is long done.

Captain, it was honestly meant in jest and comes from your legendary status here. You have regaled this board with stories of your exploits (not sexual conquests, granted) over the years and I suppose I thought you fancied yourself a bit of a larger than life character.
My sincerest apology if it offends. I'll take it down.
