He must have watched HNIC last night and also got sick from all the constant McDavid coverage.

kinda would have liked to see Janko with top group. I don't see Bennett as a center at all.

Bennett hasn't played C in months. I would have put Janko up there. I think this decision mite bite us in the ass. Hopefully Bennett can have a good game!

It would be fun. But we know that Janko has centered Mangipane and Hathaway to great success in Stockton. I think giving them a full game together could prove benfecial. And Bennett has had some success with Gaudreau in the past. I say some as it's been blips for the most part. They've never had a stretch to really gel.

It's not like Bennett has never played centre before.

Yeah, but if you do put Jankowski there, you still have to play Bennett at C on the third line.

Mangiapane - Jankowski - Hathaway have plenty of familiarity already. And Bennett has played with Gaudreau before.

I think it's the right call, personally. And I think Bennett has earned the opportunity.

Hrivik is a C. Stajan and Hrivik could have filled the bottom 2 C spots. I hope
Bennett plays well.

Hopefully he's watching closely from the press box, getting pointers on how to celebrate a goal.

I bet it will be a good, long while before we have to find out. Giordano looks like he has another year at least left in him as a top pairing defenseman, and then I could see him spending two or three years as a very serviceable #3-4 blueliner.

I was referencing the comment about Hamilton's overtime goal the other night, where apparently Monahan was not excited.

I wasn't very clear in my post, though.

I thought he was strong overall, especially defensively.
Not enough sample size to say much else. Overall the game was a full team effort and every line and pair pulled their weight.

He looked good, but not the offensive threat Monahan is. Sam will probably take a while to figure his game out, but he's doing it the right way, and was never a liability on the top line. That's a heck of a start.
