Canadian Idiot - Weird Al
Came across this on youtube, not the actual video to it but the song is kind of funny.

Amazing how some people in the comments section are flipping out over this. I myself find this funny and more poking fun at stereotypes in general than strictly at Canadians.

Although, interestingly, his current album (released in September) is his highest charting ever (#10).

Huh?
More like 1985. At least that when I saw the Weird Al documentary/movie and bought the 3D album.

The funny thing is that the song isnt mocking Canada or Canadians. It is mocking American stereotypes of Canada.

That's okay. Americans didn't get Bob and Doug either. They thought it was self-depricating humour. Really Bob and Doug is making fun of Americans.
I thought it was funny, sorta like that Grey Cup ad. Hockey nut, I treat curling like a real sport, and I had KD for dinner. Sometimes the stereotypes fit and I don't mind at all.

It's embarassing when people get all bent about these things. Canadians are supposed to have good senses of humour... and it's not like we don't make fun of ourselves all the time.
But Al really isn't that funny... nor is he offensive. He is just there.

Oh, I think Weird Al is hilarious. I like how he keeps on top of the latest technological advances and incorporates them in his songs. Since I'm in the IT field, I get a kick out of them.
As for sense of humour, I think sometimes our national pride is blinding. You don't want your country to be the butt of jokes, but in this case, the joke is that we eat too much Kraft dinner? I really don't understand the need for the rage.

Well, different strokes for different folks I guess.
Although I did find those Much Music Al TV interviews pretty funny. The ones where he would mix up the clips to make it look like the celebrities were saying things they weren't.

I didn't find it insulting at all. It's kind of like calling someone crazy, crazy like a fox.
