Toronto and Winnipeg are our safest bets to head to the spring dance. We don’t see Montreal (can’t score) or Vancouver (can’t stay healthy) as viable third options. The odds are long for Edmonton and Ottawa, but we like their rosters too much to read them their rights just yet. That said, we’re calling the Calgary Flames the third Canadian 2018 playoff team, squeaking in with a wild-card berth.

5) Edmonton fires Chia and T-Mac - With two games before the end of a disastrous season the Oilers clean house. They hire Katz son to take over as the GM and President of hockey operations. He hires his best friend Todd Dickey from the chess club as the new coach. "Haters gonna hate, but we are the 1%, now release the hounds" said the new GM

4) Flames don't make the playoffs - wait thats a typo, the Flames don't just make the playoffs, they win the cup.

3) Leon Draisaitl gets punched in the face by Darnell Nurse again - "I'm serious this time" Nurse was quoted as saying "Keep your damn dirty paws off of my woman"

2) Las Vegas Knights Implode - seriously a demolition crew gets the address wrong and blows up their rink with the team in it.

1) Gary Bettman resigns - Takes over the Hulka Burger franchise, promptly locks out all of the employees

Calgary City Council will narrowly approve continuing the Olympic bid process after receiving last-minute financial support from the provincial and federal governments.

The City will then issue a request for proposals for the construction/operation of a new arena in Victoria Park. This will include very public discussions with both AEG and the Oak View Group, the organizations that helped get privately funded arenas for Vegas, Seattle, and Long Island.

This will be the kick in the ass that will bring the Flames back to the table and a new arena deal will be finalized before the end of summer.
