it was an entertaining game to say the least but the flames still have a long ways to go for me to start believing. it would be nice if we had an actual Top Line right winger

Ferland is tied for 12th in goals for LWer's and 5th for RWer's in the league.
He might not be a bonafide top line winger, but he's doing everything expected of him and more.

He's filled in ok but I see him time and time again miss wide open chances and make lazy stupid defensve plays which leads me to believe he just doesn't have the hockey iq to be a consistent top line rw.
Also think Gaudreau and Monahan have a lot to do with why Ferlend is barely floating above water on the first line.

I don’t post much, but after a huge win I can’t help but think about what a sad place this is. Huge win and a mere 3 page PGT. Can’t wait for the inevitable win-streak and subsequent ‘I believed in Glen all along’ posts. What a sad existence it must be as a fan who hopes their team loses so a coach can be fired. Go flames!

Hmmm... you may want to read the first post again... also it’s NYE, most likely everyone is out enjoying celebrating with non-online forum friends

But to your point the previous PGT was filled with lots of complaining rather than celebrating a big win

At just over a million bucks. That's a horse you bet in.

This team will not make it far with this coach.

Really not much to celebrate after blowing a three goal lead then getting a loser point in the sister kisser round after the game, sadly it may still be a season or five before that inevitable win streak happens.Stay tuned, things will get worse before they get better...

There is plenty to celebrate, a win is a win. The Flames were the better team overall and if not for a few bad shifts in the 2nd and a fluke goal it would have been an easy regulation win.

I am still concerned about the lack of killer instinct and the tendency to collapse under pressure however this win does give me some optimism to start 2018.

If you think Ferly has a low iq then who would you replace him with? Monahan has been a one trick pony lately does he have low iq too? I believe the first line needs a sniper but Ferly is the only option but he is doing his job.

What should we excatly celebrate?

The fact we blew a three goal lead or
The fact the only way this team can win under that clueless moron is with the 3-on-3 gimmick?

Wow even in victory we are now managing to look for only negatives.

Happy New Year!

Only a handful of PGT posts from last night, obviously because most people were out enjoying the party.

I don't think it's a coincidence that the people who were posting so many negative comments after a win were also not otherwise busy with the New Year's festivities.

Don't forget CP, hockey is just entertainment, nothing more. If you did not enjoy the game, if your first reaction to a desperately needed win (witness Giordano's goal celebration) is to find something to whine about, you should find some other way to entertain yourself because you are not doing it right.

The original PGT was deleted accidentally by a mod. See post #1.

Please. Just because there’s those that despite being happy about a win can still be critical about the overall play of the team doesn’t mean they’re less of a fan than you.

Where exactly did I say you are not to be critical or that you are a lesser fan? Forget it. Happy New Year.

I missed the original thread, sadly. Flames are in trouble, I thought we were slumping but now legit concerned. GG needs to go. If we stay status quo with this nonsense until the end of the season I'll be joining the chorus to call for Treliving's head.

Sure sounds like unless you are 100% satisfied or are critical of the team “you are not doing it right.”
