Tough loss. Had so many chances to get the 2 points. On the bright side I think that is another pretty solid performance by the team which hopefully can continue.
Another thing hurting the Flames but going unnoticed is that for quite awhile now offence from the blueline has really dried up. Could use the odd goal from Gio, Brodie, and Dougie in particular.
GG’s system does not allow d men to lead the rush. What can you do.
Personally I think Johnny's SO should not have counted and I wouldn't be opposed to a rule change making that sort of move against the rules
I thought it was borderline. Even Johnny looked like he wasn't sure if it was going to count. If we had won with that goal it would be the controversy of the night. If the flames were scored on like that and lost, this board would be singing a different tune.
I'll gladly take the point here. They played a solid albeit boring game in a tough barn and deserved the win. Now we need to crush the sharks on thursday and never look back.
Overall was a good game, Flames deserved to win but were unlucky. A point is still a point. The 3M line combo combined has not scored in how many games now? I think it's time for some change there.
Lazar seriously has stone hands, he basically had a 2 on 1 with Stajan for a split second but had a clear lane to the net and can't even put it on net. Why did we waste a 2nd on him? He's a clear example of making a trade at the deadline just to make a trade.
The inability of this team to create a lethal powerplay with Monahan, Gaudreau, Giordano, and Hamilton is really frustrating. There have been so many opportunities these last few games were we could have finished a team off and made it easy for ourselves. Instead, powerplays have done more to kill momentum than anything.
I would like to see two defensemen on the powerplay myself.

I think with Gio and Brodie being the only two defencemen that play both sides of special teams, you start giving Stone PP shifts on top of his PK duties. He can handle the minutes, being on the 3rd pairing and all. If a right shot is what you want, then he's far better in the role than Brouwer.
