#### Jerry. Legitimately the only guy I'd root against in a matchup against Goodell.

Humbling times for Jerry. I think some of the other power owners have got tired of him running the show behind the scenes. Jerry actually believed he had the power to oust the commissioner all on his own and the reality is that his influence is dwindling as owner get wise to what he's been doing.

Brown, who implements an analytics-based executive team, has been fired and Jackson will remain as head coach, the Browns announced Thursday.

Brown, who was not on speaking terms with Jackson over the past month or so according to sources, managed one victory in his two seasons of rebuilding the roster, and the Browns are in jeopardy of going 0-16 this season.

Brown's tenure was characterized by acquiring numerous draft picks through trades, but he will likely be remembered for passing on quarterbacks Carson Wentz and DeShaun Watson in the 2016 and 2017 drafts.

"Hue Jackson will remain our coach and will return for the 2018 season".

NFL Network reported that the Browns have been vetting former Chiefs general manager John Dorsey for more than a month.

Got to get their QB in the next draft. Who do you like?

They’ll be scared off of Rosen and his attitude from their Manziel mistake, Darnold will go back to school to avoid them, and they’ll take Allen #1. He’ll bust out because no project can succeed in Cleveland and the cycle will continue.

Hue is legit gonna parlay a 1-31 record into a third year. Guy is clearly a garbage coach, but Browns gonna Browns. All the QB prospects will be smart to go full Eli and refuse to play for the Browns. Watson, Goff and Wentz have to still be laughing at their great fortune. At some point folding the Browns will be the merciful thing to do.

I actually think it's a poor year for QBs. Despite the depth, I don't see a guy who's going to turn a franchise around. Mind you I also thought that last year and the year before so what do I know?

Darnold has struggled at times this year and probably should go back to school. Rosen has a good arm but his decision-making reminds me of Jay Cutler. Jackson looks like your classic, smallish dual-threat QB. I like Mayfield but I think he's the type of guy you put on a team that's already established or semi-established with a strong defense and a run game (Jacksonville or Arizona maybe). You put him on the Browns and he'll be in the CFL in 4 years.

Hue Jackson is a fraud and the biggest con man in the NFL. The first thing Reggie Mackenzie did when hired was to fire Hue Jackson. I remember when Tom Cable was the head coach and Hue was hired as OC and there were whispers that Hue had Al Davis's ear and it was a matter of time until he unseated Cable. Took only one season for him to backstab Cable and take his job despite Cable coaching to the team to its first non-losing season since 2002 and sweeping the AFC West. Pretty well everyone in the facility hated him as he threw everyone under the bus when the team bombed down the stretch in 2011 losing critical games to the Broncos and Chargers failing to improve on Cable's 8-8 season previous despite giving up a 1st round pick and conditional 1st round pick to acquire Palmer which is a deal Al Davis nixed at the beginning of the season because he thought the cost was too high and the moment he passed away in the middle of the season Hue made that trade which set the Raiders back two years.

He's done absolutely nothing but lose since assuming the head coach job of the Browns. Even Dennis Allen was winning 4 games a season with a Pryor and McGloin starting with a roster arguably worse than the Browns of the last two seasons. It's really hard with all the parity in the NFL to win just one game in two years. I have no doubt Brown deserved to be fired but make no mistake Hue Jackson was behind this and it's not going to be easy to find a quality candidate that's going to be willing to work with a guy that has a reputation of backstabbing coaches and GMs.

I like Rosen but don’t know about the attitude. He in unquestionably the best QB talent in the draft IMO but you hear about teammates disliking him and questions about his commitment to football and wonder. I don’t like Darnold in the least and don’t see the hype. Allen I couldn’t say but I never trust projects from small schools and inability to win.

I actually like Jackson a lot and think he can succeed at the NFL level with a little bulk and a good coach for pocket throws. Baker is a crapshoot, he’s either going to succeed amazingly like Wilson and Brees or flame out Manziel 2.0 style. No middle ground on that guy.

Garoppolo and McCarron have been lucky too.

Jackson is actually my favourite QB from this draft class. He'll need quite a bit of work, but there's an intriguing skill set there.

She's rivalry game day! Super fired up for Saints/Falcons tonight, got the day off tomorrow too. If Saints can get a W they'll have a 2 game lead on the division with 3 to play, but Atlanta playing for their playoff lives at 7-5, they're going to bring it.

Should be a fun game, after resting the past two weeks, I'm expecting Lattimore back out there tonight, they'll need him against Julio and that receiving core. Hoping Kamara has a nice return to his hometown, man he's getting a lot of hype around the league these past couple weeks. Become our "super rookie" since Lattimore went down in terms of media coverage it seems.

Geaux Saints! Even wore black & gold colours to the office today

Ryan Shazier had "spinal stabilization surgery" yesterday. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if his NFL career was already over, which is secondary of course. Just hope he'll recover as well as possible and have full mobility in his legs.

Yup hope he has a full recovery.

It's why it pisses me off when stuff like the Gronk play only gets a 1 game suspension though.

That play could have easily badly hurt a guy, or broken somebody's neck, it wasn't a football play, and clearly an intent to injure. 1 game suspension.

Not a fan of Jones but I tend to agree with him that Goodell is a joke of a Commissioner, and should be replaced.

I don't love Goodell but I don't think he's just sitting in an office all by himself making the rulings. The NFL likely has lawyers that specialize in the rule book that are advising how much they recommend and they also have to consider appeal, history of the player, past suspensions for similar acts, etc. There's a lot of moving parts and I imagine they felt if they gave Gronkowski two or more games that it would have got appealed back down to one. That said this was an oddball infraction as you don't normally see that type of late hit so they could have made this one as an example going forward and give him a stiffer fine.

In general I find the NFL much more consistent than say the NHL which works on a tiered system where star players are not treated the same as regular players. In the NFL they don't care if you are Tom Brady or Joe Blow as they will come down hard on you if they feel you broke the rules.
