As an aside, I can't believe the NHL stubbornly held onto that icing tag up play for years when it was clear that it was very dangerous to the players and added almost nothing to the game.
Does anyone miss that stupid play happening 10 times a game?

I would agree that we've been unlucky this year. Seems like most games opponents score a lucky goal or two whilst we can't buy a goal on the best of opportunities. Some lost games we should've won, and some won games we should have won more handily, especially with the good goaltending we've had. Looking at the numbers we do have the 26th worst shooting % at 5-on-5 and a lot of that is down to luck. It's not like we have a team of muckers like Carolina, who have terrible sh% every season, or inflated shot count like LA or EDM.
