Joseph didn't give Melenik Watson (Raiders 2nd round bust) a 3 year $18 million contract to play right tackle. Offensive line is still a mess. Who's their starting running back? These issues are all on the GM.
Oh ya, this is all Elway's mess, but since they bye week the offense has been incredibly inept. I don't know if Joseph should or would get fired this offseason, but playing at Cleveland Browns level is not a good look. Granted, with the offensive line and quarterback caliber, I don't think the team could even beat the Browns.

Looks to me like the defense has been as big or a bigger problem....no?

Im sure a lot of that has been short fields for the opposition and such, but that D was always supposed to be the strength of the team, and looking at things, only Indy has surrendered more points in the NFL.

Been an amazing fall from grace either way.

McAdoo officially canned. Giants look like a big rebuild so be interesting to see who is interested.

And Reese

So did ownership simply wait for those two to take the heat for breaking Manning's streak before canning them? The writing has been on the wall since the 49ers beat them soundly weeks ago, they were officially eliminated from the playoffs after the games last week, why wait until this moment to fire them?

Obviously it wasn't McAdoo's lone decision, if it was it would've been overruled. This went up the GM and the president. I'm sure years down the road this will come out as it was an ownership decision.

I think the benching of Manning was what precipitated the firings now as opposed to seasons end.

The Mara's dont like bad pub.....they had a seasons worth the last 5 days.

McAdoo and Reese were both going to get fired at the end of the season regardless. The handling of the Manning situation simply accelerated things. Not a bad thing actually at they can take a good look as Spagnuolo as head coach and see if he's a legit head coach candidate. Not sure what to think of McAdoo as from my point of view he was doing things like a guy that was daring ownership to fire him. He's just handled everything so incredibly bad this season like a guy that didn't care at all about job security.

I think this is the right course of action. It would have only looked bad if McAdoo wasn't fired and then they announced Eli was back as starter. There's no doubt ownership was involved in discussions on benching Eli and signed off so while McAdoo is being thrown under the bus it's an easy way to appease fans by firing him and mandating Eli start again (I'm assuming Spagnuolo wasn't tasked with making this decision).

I think so. That was one of the most egregious late hits I've ever seen.

Just total idiocy on Gronkowski's part.

Defense kinda is an issue, but not as much based on what you mentioned. They haven't given up that much defensively when it comes to yards and first downs, but when you're generally on the losing side of field possession, it's tough to not give up points. And they haven't been able to generate turnovers as much as in previous years.

That and he led the hit with his bionic forearm, in the back of the guy's head. I feel like he shouldn't be allowed to wear that monstrosity on his arm anymore, if he's going to use it as a weapon out there. I mean how sore can that arm actually be if he's using it to brain people with?

One game suspension is fine so long as it comes with a six figure fine as well. It was such a bizarre sequence considering it was a laugher of a game and there wasn't any kind of previous incident to ignite it. My first thought was roid rage.

suspensions for on-field incidents keep being a joke in the NFL.

Everything's fine in this league unless you smoke some weed.
