I absolutely despise hearing the crowd cheer when the other team scores

Fluke goal but the Leafs are full marks for the lead as they got more AAA scoring chances in that period than they likely see in most games.

Flames were way too loosey goosey, but that shot goes in 1 in 100. What a joke.
Smith is playing awesome. Need the rest of the guys to get going.

What an awful period by the Flames. Leafs just all over them. No poise whatsoever and just continually give them the puck.

Also, we can call that a terrible bounce, but Harmonic didn't even try to get out of the way. Not sure what he was trying to do, he just coasted and let that puck hit him.

This team thinks they don't need to play defence because they have a good goalie for the first time in years.

Gotta think there's gonna be a lot of pissed off Flames to start the 2nd.
None more than Hamonic. His sweet give-and-go needs some redeeming.

Yes, yes they did. Two terrible clears on power play that Smith had to completely save their asses on followed by a very dumb play by Bennett to let that breakout pass him. Very dumb play by our wonderful 4th overall pick.

All this talk of an upgraded D this year and it looks like garbage. It was better last year with Engelland and Wideman.

Our defense...
Just amazingly awful. Not that I fault anyone on the goal, but the score being what it is is 100% Smith. Awful period.

Hamonic seems to shovel the puck up the boards more than any other dman. He needs less panic in his game.

They need a coach who can teach them how to clear their zone. They may be the worst in the league in getting the puck out

Flukes happen. Smith deserved better though. Flames dont seem to have good first periods at home and that could've been a lot worse. Very much in it if the big guys can work some more magic and they can get their legs.

Leafs have good gaps, Flames have poor ones. Leafs crisp in their passing and exits, Flames sloppy.
Edge in execution allows TOR to win period. CGY needs to step it up

I thought it was a pretty even period overall. Just a couple minutes there where the Leafs had some great chances, mostly because of the power play and a shoddy penalty kill by the Flames.
Horrible bounce after several highlight reel saves from Smith. That's the way she goes I guess.
