I know he likes to stay in the crease but some of those goals were in high above the shoulders. Smith can overcome that due to size. Maybe Lacks positioning is actually an issue?

Are the boards actually passing the puck back to the wings players?

What? He's not wrong. Most of the goals have been on Lack, Brodie, or Hamonic. You even don't need advanced stats to arrive to this conclusion - you can see it plain on the TV!

I've been a fan of Backlund since he's been drafted. He's not at his top level this season. Not saying he's been terrible but I think he has more to give

It definitely is. I think two goalie coaches now have tried working with him on it and they've given up.
He plays too deep and isn't quick enough like Jonathan Quick to make reactionary saves.

To beat a dead horse that doesn't appear to have any chance of resurrection. . . . Brodie-Gio had Brodie on his off side, where he has said he feels more comfortable and reads the play better.
But what does he know?

I was gonna say that we would have been better keeping Johnson; but it looks like he's really struggling in Buffalo as well.

It almost makes me want to see this:
Brodie - Stone

Just to shake things up.

Gio-Hamilton are statistically the 2nd best pair in the league. Do not touch.

You know it actually takes skill to score on the powerplay, right? Versteeg finished top-20 last season in PPG/GP, not an easy feat, and he's always been incredibly cheap.
Versteeg is also one of the team's best passers -- that hasn't changed this season. It's not his fault that he plays with two of the worst finishers on the team. His on-ice shooting percentage is literally 3.8%, one of the worst in the entire league. There's not a lot he can do there.
I know you're looking for an excuse to #### on him in a slump, but how about you look at facts for a change instead of calling anyone who disagrees with your opinions delusional?

Lack doesn’t get a lot of leeway here for one simple fact.
I don’t think a single person on this forum wanted him. That certainly hasn’t changed.

Have to agree with the panel, waive Lack and go with Rititch and Gillies. He is not an NHL goalie, and has given up 12 goals in 4 or 5 periods.
No need to over-analyze and Corsi it to death, he is bad.

Are you serious?
I didn't see the first two, but the 3rd, 4th,and 5th are all stoppable. I get that a goalie can let some tough ones in but Lack's rebound control and positioning were not good at all tonight.

Story of tonights game Brodie and Hamonic combine for a cool -7 and Lack with a 667% save percentage.
