Did Kulak and Andersson play any time together in the AHL last season?

People were saying the same thing about Hamilton after his first month as a Flame. Glad we have Hamonic, he is only going to get better/more comfortable as the season continues

Andersson is not playing for the Heat tonight. That likely means he's on a plane to Calgary.

Please oh please let this mean Bartkowski continues riding the bench.

Bartkowski has a good game in his system. He can handle a game every so often.

Coach is pretty insistent on having dmen play on the side of their handedness so I'd expect Andersson to be up. 2nd or 3rd pair is the question.

How does it work with the roster numbers? Aren't they at the limit?

As discussed earlier, Hamilton has already cleared waivers and could be sent down. Hamonic could also be assigned to IR.

However, if a player is called up, they will no longer have a roster spot available to activate Jagr from IR.

If Andersson is being called up, then they almost certainly expect Hamonic to go on IR

But what roster move? Send Jankowski down after all?

The team carries seven defencemen for a reason: so that in case of an injury, they can dress the extra man and not have to resort to a callup. Why have a spare tire in the trunk of your car if you're just going to sit by the side of the road until somebody delivers a new tire from the factory?

What's the deadline on this stuff? They still have time to make such moves before tomorrow's game?

Yeah, Hamilton has cleared waivers, so he can be sent down anytime.

If Hamonic's injury is bad enough (and they expect him to be out at least a week), they could put him on IR and call Andersson up without any other moves too. Depending on when Hamonic was injured, they could put him on IR retroactive to Thursday's game, which would allow him to return to action on Thursday against Detroit (I believe).

If they want Andersson to play tomorrow, they don't need to do anything other than send Hamilton down. If Hamonic is still out on Tuesday and they want to activate Jagr, they could then put Hamonic on IR, retroactive to when he was injured, and Andersson could still play on Tuesday.

does it matter who gets to play 3rd pairing defense?
Brodie- Stone 27 minutes Gio-Hamilton 27 minutes leaves 6 minutes for the 3rd pairing. Hamilton is the only one of the top 4 who hasn't been in an every second shift situation so Gio gets Kulak once every 3rd or 4th shift or a PKer.

The biggest hole is on the PK ... Is Anderrson the Heats #1 PK D or is it Wotherspoon? Who would the Flames have the most confidence in on the PK?

The thing is, you can't trust this coach to not play his tire-fire third pairing when he has it available. The top 4 healthy defensemen could all easily handle 27+ minutes per game (for a week at least) but good luck seeing GG deploy them like that.

That said it'd also be nice to get a glimpse of one of the prospects.

Yeah I'm sure these guys have thick skin and can handle some fan drive bys in social media, but I find some of these comments (mostly on Twitter etc) cringe worthy.

Bartkowski is a 7th defenseman, he doesn't have bar set all that high that he needs to be denigrated
