Also correct me if i'm wrong but Tkachuk was not a regular shift in 3 on 3 OT last year.
Gets his chance and shines. Took the worlds best player to school.

It's nice to win a game, but its abundantly clear to me that the Flames have major problems right now.

They give up far too many shots (Thank you for being amazing Mike Smith).
The special teams are horrendous (fluke bounce aside).
Zero depth scoring through a month + of hockey (no scoring when the top-6 isn't on the ice)
Lots of players don't appear to be able to hit the broad side of a barn.
We make every backup goalie look like an all-star.
We are probably the team with the lowest shooting percentage and GF of any team above .500.

... It gets said too much, and I'm starting to repeat myself, but I suspect Gulutzen's days are numbered if things don't sort themselves out immediately. I said the next 3 games would be crucial after they fell below .500, even though they've won, it hasn't been convincing at all.

Tkachuk is a gamer. Smith is an all-star.

I like how upset Smith was at the tying goal. The guy is such a competitor. I have to admit I was skeptical (I was much more confident in Elliott before last year), but so happy with his acquisition. I do think we'll work through some of our problems - like bottom six scoring and the PK, he's buying us time, which is so important.

Here's a little known fact. The last two Cup champions at times rode their goaltenders even in the playoffs.

They started like they had 4 days and a Halloween party since the last game.

But credit to GG and the leadership in that room, as they were a completely different team to start the 2nd. An all-around wakeup call, and they played really well.

Didn't see a whole lot from Crosby, but there was a barrage of danger from Kessel, Sheaery and Letang most of the game. Impressive on back-to-backs.

But Mike Smith. Wow. He definitely earned a SO on that one.

Yeah Ferland stripped him on the blue line and then scored on the breakaway

Not the prettiest or the best earned win, but the 2 points count just the same.

Team is collectively snakebitten outside of the first line, but they're creating chances. I'm sure this team will get better once the season progresses.

Thank Smith once again.
Loved the last play by Tkachuk.
Game winner not scored by Monahan
Gaudreau keeps getting points.
Monahan on pace for a 40+ goal season.

I really hope Treliving does something about that 4th line.

Looking okay in the division too. Vegas and Vancouver are starting to come down soon, and we're right in the mix.

That's 5 wins in a row over the Penguins.
