Pittsburgh Penguins vs Calgary Flames - 7:00 PM MDT
The second night of back to back games has been awful for Pittsburgh this year. Will the Flames help that trend continue?
For the Flames, what will the lines look like? Jagr isn't back yet, and F Hamilton has been waived and will be sent down.
Now that Jankowski feels he may just be sticking around, how will that affect his play?

I think the pens are going to be dog tired tonight. I'm expecting a few big passes from Smith tonight, I think we'll see 3 good breakaways.
5-1 Flames

Call my crazy, but I think it's time we promote Brouwer to the Jankowski line and bump Versteeg down. I think he has been playing well lately.

Versteeg has been playing on the "fourth line" with Stajan and Brouwer.
Bennett - Jankowski - Lazar is the third line
But yes, Brouwer could fit right into that right wing spot. He has been playing decent lately.

^^I didn't think Lazar was in the line up last game.
Either way, it might be time to try Bennett - Jankowski - Brouwer soon.

Wow, the Pens playing their 15th game of the season already while most teams are at around 10.
I am hoping for a Flames win! Get back above .500

We’ve played that game before unfortunately. He’s poison 5v5 (and on the PP...and on the PK). The 4th line is pure trash right now, I’d sooner see it confined to that line. Why strap an anchor to Jankowski in the same way we did to Bennett? Let the kids play.
Bennett - Jankowski - Lazar should be the line until Jagr comes back. Once #68 is back in the line, push Lazar down to the 4th and sit one of the overpaid veterans.

Lazar played really well against the Caps. He’s generating a ton of speed on the forecheck and is throwing the body. Really liked his jam on Janko’s wing.

Logic says that Flames should win considering they had some time to rest while the Pens are on their second of a B2B. And they played 15 games already.
However, the Flames record of 3-6 after having at least 3 days rest since GG took over doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in a Flames win tonight.

Is tonight the night where our 3rd and 4th lines pull their heads out of each other's asses and contribute offensively? Stay tuned.

Wasn’t there a theory that Oilers were the beneficiary of an unusual number of back to backs last year? Seems like we are getting a lot this year so far.

It looks like that so far but don't worry by the end of the year the Oilers will have more.

If I'm not mistaken, the Flames have a pretty good recent record against the Pens.
Flames win it 4-3 in OT

I remember a good few years back Crosby scored a pretty nice goal and the Saddledome crowd actually cheered him. I'm not even talking about Pens fans in Calgary, but full on Flames jersey wearing fans applauding his goal.
I was disgusted.
The only exception to this was Iggy, but that was strictly a pre-game ceremony where it was acceptable to applaud him. Once the puck drops, you are mortal enemies.

Thank god, looking forward to the four month reprieve before they all start covering Jays spring training camp.

Should be able to win with the Penguins on the second night of a back to back. I hope...
