McCrimmon is an astonishing omission.

All star. + 48 one season, + 43 the next. Captain the one after that.

The McCrimmon Suter pairing, in my opinion, is the best pairing we've ever had in the organization.

The dude was a second team all-star - recognized as one of the top four defencemen in the NHL.

Weirdly, he doesn't show up on the Flyers' list either. I wonder if it was some kind of glitch or omission in the database the Hockey News was using.

It's also a huge insult to have Kent Nilsson ahead of Lanny. Nilsson had a boat load of talent but was a very selfish player. He showed up (talent wise) when he felt like it and got the deserved nickname as the sometimes magic man
Nilsson yielded Joe Nieuwendyk which then yielded Iginla. Without Nilsson, none of those two ever in a Flames uniform. The magic worked out pretty well I'd say.

There must be a min games played criteria otherwise I don't see how Hull and Jagr are left off the list.

Because they both don't belong on the list.

You actually think Jagr deserves to be on the list? He has ZERO career goals with the Flames playing a handful of games.

100% in agreement with both quotes. There was not a lot of thought put into compiling the list; just the big names that have been on the Flames roster regardless of roster tenure and team contribution/accomplishments.

I would argue that ranking should be more closely matching the SC winning roster. At the same time, if they chose Iginla as #1, then Kipper should be #2 by that ranking logic. He WAS the main reason we've gotten to SC finals...

And why German Titov is not on the list?
