I have been pleasantly surprised as well, actually using his speed. The kids a winger and not a center. It's not a bad thing. Flames can actually ice their best team that way.

G's team on too many nights going back to last season where they just go through the motion, struggle to establish any rythem. Very little battle in their game.

Glen, get Versteeg off the PP. Put Hamilton with Gio as point men on first unit. Brodie and Stone as point men on 2nd unit. Stand Janko in front of net. Your welcome!!

I also am not liking Versteeg on the powerplay.

Pretty much sums up the GT, and refs

And another thing about the PP. Put your best PP dman in Hamilton on the 1st unit. He also adds a legitimate point shot which brodie and Versteeg don't have.
Coaching staff is completely clueless when it comes to player utilization

Yeah, if that "no harm, no foul" calling is the standard, why did Stajan get a penalty for a play which, while an infraction, affected nothing?
And I think that trip limited Johnny's options. His recovery took him out of a leftward move or a shot. He was left with a rightward deke (not that that isn't his go to move).

Sens improved by leaps and bounds when they fired Dave Cameron. I'm tired of him and his strategy/players deployed. With any luck, the Flames will figure out in 10 or so games that Dougies shot on the PP makes it way more dangerous.

Much better second period, but good god Johnny needs to learn how to go upstairs on the deke like Versteeg can.

Versteeg running the first unit PP is quite odd, he was very good on it at times last season but that time has past. There are better options for the first unit, he handles the puck more than Johnny which makes zero sense.

Was he in the left side last year (especially when Johnny was out)?
ETA his PP goal last game came from that side. Maybe he needs to be on the left side on the second unit, maybe put Hamilton on the point and Tkachuk on the right low side.

Why is it this team only starts to care after they're down a couple goals? If they could just figure out how to care before they're in a hole...

Pretty sure by placing him on IR he's out for a full week retroactively. So he can't be activated until Saturday at the earliest.
